Things are going quite well. CT's been gorgeous, and only now is it starting to get cold. My step-dad outfitted my SUV with all-weather tires (since she's only known hot climates) and had it checked to make sure it was ready for the winter. My mom LOVES my cat, so she's been able to stay here with me without any problems. I think it's also good that she's here for the times I'm away with my boyfriend. Kiki has mom, and mom has her grand-kitty. It's ridiculously cute to see them, especially since my mother's never owned a cat. She's just amazed by her adorable-ness.
Landed some part time jobs this week. Depending on how much I make with these I may try to add another, but for right now any income is better than no income. Plus, if I get more hours at these then it'll be a moot point. I got the bulk of my student loans into forbearance til May, so that's helping a great deal. My boyfriend's more than willing to help me with my bills but I really hate to take anything from anyone, so I'm hoping that soon I won't need his financial help anymore. He's got a full load with school, and by working he's sacrificing his film time for me (he wants to be a film director). He says it's worth it but I want him to do what he enjoys...
Anyway, I'll leave you with a picture he took a few weeks ago when we were out meandering on our 4 month-iversary. I'd say it adequately summarizes my life right now (in no small part due to him).
God I love it here.

Namaste.

Update:
I'm moving to CT this weekend, and it's a good move. My husband (soon to be ex) will probably be moving closer to some friends here in TX soon.
All my family is up inCT, and I finally feel like I'm myself again. 9 years is a long time to be married--a third of my life. And a long time to be away from "home." I don't regret all that I've learned, but I do wish I had spent that time (without having lost all the wisdom I've gained from this path) with the one I've always truly loved. It's too bad I'm only now realizing just how much my family loves and supports me, and how much I've always needed that.
Alas, life is a journey, and we are who we are based off our experiences. We are only what we have learned.
Things are going well enough though, and I'm happy. I won't be renewing my subscription here, so when it runs out (February or March?) that'll be it. In case I don't update for a while I just want to thank everyone for their support and encouragement. Feel free to find me on FB (or MySpace, though I never check it anymore) if you'd like to keep in touch.
I wish the best for all of you out there. May you find happiness and contentment in your own life as I am finally finding in mine.

Yesterday I posted a small rant about a link a friend posted on FB, which then spurned a Note, and finally into a full-blown blog entry.
This rant can also be found here: http://www.xomba.com/creationism_versus_evolution_rant or on my blog on blogspot. I link the Xomba one here since there are articles written by other people you might find interesting as well about this general topic.
So here's the blog rant:
From the article "Kirk Cameron Stands Behind Controversial Darwin Statements" by Oliver Jones (found here: http://www.people.com/people/article/0,,20307814,00.html):
"’Atheism has been on the rise for years now, and the Bible of the atheists is The Origin of Species,’ Cameron tells PEOPLE. ‘We have a situation in our country where young people are entering college with a belief in God and exiting with that faith being stripped and shredded. What we want to do is have student make an informed, educated decision before they chuck their faith...’
"…So what is the plan that Cameron, 38, has hatched to supposedly save the souls of freshmen around the country?
‘He and other creationists have created thousands of editions of Charles Darwin's landmark work explaining evolutionary theory, with a 50-page introduction that picks apart aspects of Darwin's work and try to link it to everything from Nazi eugenics to the scientist's alleged 'disdain for women.' "
Ok. There are quite a few things to rant about concerning this topic, but there’s a subject people don't usually include in the argument—a subject that drives me crazy about this whole creationism thing.
My biggest problem with this ongoing clash between of creationism and evolution is this: Creationists presume that only the Christian creation story is what matters. If you're going to teach creationism as an alternative to evolution then you have to cover EACH and EVERY creation story found in EACH and EVERY religion, or it simply is not a viable subject to teach in school. You can NOT just teach ONE religion's views and use that as the sole “creation” argument against science/evolution. It simply brings us back to Christians versus “everyone else,” namely the scientific community. (Exclusive religions love to play the “us versus them” card.) In school—which is supposed to be separate from singular religious views—you have to be inclusive in teachings and discussions, especially if you are discussing particularly subjective views (although subjectivity can be attributed to virtually every topic known to man).
Religion does NOT equal the Christian God and the Christian creation story. It never has and never will. Americans are often too ignorant to realize there are other religions besides Christianity (or at least, other religions that hold beliefs that matter at all). In fact, there are countless others. If you want to teach “creationism” in schools—meaning the idea that a god or larger force created this world, universe, or even just our species—go for it, but you MUST be inclusive across the board. This is about FREE thinking—about considering our creation from a variety of angles, theories, beliefs, etc. It should NOT be about teaching the Genesis in school, and definitely not about teaching anything as “fact.”
This dichotomy about the “fact” of Christian creationism versus the “fact” of evolution is maddening. It's ALL theory in the end. No one REALLY KNOWS ANYTHING as fact about virtually ANYTHING in our Universe. How can you presume to say you KNOW when you freaking don't? Doing so is pure arrogance, and it is unbelievably foolhardy. This is NOT about Christians vs Atheists. Or it shouldn't be. Such battles are presumptuous and futile as they only lead to more fighting and more hate.
All of this is why knowledge is imperative in all aspects of human existence. Humans must strive to learn everything we can from people who have already lived and experienced and thought and considered and felt and laughed and cried. It is how we grow. History is filled with people who all have a piece of truth to offer, and with those pieces of truth we can expand our horizons—as individuals, as societies, and as a species—and seek out new truths to add to our knowledge base. Without knowledge and learning we cannot advance as people or as social groups.
People shouldn’t limit themselves by confining their minds (thoughts, feelings, emotions, etc) within socially constructed boundaries (be them religious, scientific, political, whatever). We only hurt ourselves and the future of our society in the long-run.

Life is interesting.
Still not sure what's going to come of all of this. I mean, I know where I will be.. I know I'll be fine.
But that's not what I'm worried about...
Fear is a powerful thing..
Prayers are still appreciated.
Thanks.

Hey kids.
Sorry, went anonymous for a little while there. I didn't actually delete anything.
I'm still in some life transitions so...yea. But I'm not gone for good, at least not right now.
Thanks to those that noticed me gone and checked into see how I was/am fairing. I am tempted to believe that everything is starting to stabilize, but we'll see. Of course, I'll be praying and believing that they continue improving regardless, and I happily accept your positive thoughts as well.
Love and peace-o.

Hey everyone. Just got back from my 2 week visit to CT.
There's a lot going on with me right now, more than I'd anticipated, so I won't be on for a while most likely.
Hope all is well with you.
Namaste.

I'm bored. I wanted to update my blog, but I don't really feel like thinking real thoughts, so I decided to play around with my webcam.

Good god I'm a dork
Haha.
Anyway, I'll have better update-type-things later. But now, it's time to get dressed. Why you may ask?
It's time for sushi!! ^_^ Yata!
Real quick: All moved in to our new place in Texas! We got everything accomplished a day early, which was rockstar.
We're recooping after the loading into the Penske, the 20 hr drive, and the mad-rush unloading that took place on the 4th. The hubby of course had to do the majority of moving (since I'm just not that strong) but I was able to help with all the lighter stuff, and I'd done most of the packing and will be doing most of the unpacking.
Just got internet today, and aparently it is twice as fast as what we had in FL, so Fred's really psyched.
He had his background check and drug test today, so we should find out 24 hrs from then when he officially starts.
Well, that's all for now. Tired still, and a lot more unpacking to do tomorrow. And hopefully we'll be able to get our tags, licenses and all that crap done tomorrow.
Later everyone!

Quick update:
The hubby got the job in Houston (he found out Monday), so we are in the process of moving... We leave here July 1st, move into our apartment down there July 5th, and he starts July 8th!
Needless to say, I'm super busy and will update further once we're settled.
Thank you EVERYONE for your positive thoughts/prayers/vibes/etc!
Keep sending that energy! Everything seems to be going smoothly so far, smoother than if we'd had time to plan, heh.
Oh, the power of positive thinking!
Take care, and I'll be back soon! ^_^
