Happy new year, SG! Since my last blog, everything kind of got turned upside down in my life but I think it's finally found itself right side up again. I ended up finding out that my best friend/sometimes boyfriend/old roommate/reason I originally moved to California was basically lying to me, using me, and seeing someone who was supposed to be "just a friend" (cue the biz markie song). So yeah, that was like a week before Christmas. I ended up moving out of my house, and a generous friend allowed me and my dog to couch surf. So the holidays were pretty rough, but I have many wonderful and supportive people in my life who helped me make the best of it. On new year's day, I found a perfect new place to live and I moved in last week! My dog and I are SO much happier and I finally feel somewhat sane and stable again, which is always positive. Anyway, I'm trying to make this year the best ever and focus on being the best person I can be. What doesn't kill you, makes you stronger...right?

hey y'all! hope everyone has been doing well. i can hardly believe it's december (and less than three weeks until christmas!). things have been going pretty well lately, just keeping busy and staying out of trouble. i'm a little bit bummed that it'll be my first christmas that i'm spending without my family, but being in a big city for the holidays really makes it feel like Christmas for some reason (I'm kind of obsessed with home alone 2 so that might be part of the reason). Anyway, here are a few pictures, because I know everyone likes those way more than words.

happy birthday to ME (and radeo)

Wow, I just realized it's been over a month since my last post! I've been super busy and stressed and whatnot, so I haven't really had time to be on the computer as much as usual (which is sad because I am not up-to-date on my memes and pictures of cats doing funny things). Since my last update, I was looking for a new place to live, which almost happened, but then my Craigslist potential renter flaked, but it all worked out and I was able to continue renting in the place I was in. I'm very thankful to not be homeless. Then one of my wisdom teeth got infected and I had to have it pulled, so I was cranky and ugly for a few days while my face was swollen. Everything else has been decent though, no complaints -- except the weather here has turned from beautiful and summery to rainy and cold. I'm currently housesitting for havana and i'm so thankful to have some alone time here to get caught up on internet happenings and reading books before i have to return them to the library.

anyway, my birthday is in a couple of weeks and then it's thanksgiving and then the holiday season madness begins, so i'm sure to have several updates and pictures in the near future.

hey!

as of my last couple of blogs, I was on the fence about whether or not to move back to florida. well, after lots of thinking and anxiety and crying and whatnot, i've decided to stay in the bay. with no prospect of a job or money saved up or anything, the thought of me moving was just not making me happy. plus, i have wonderful friends here and i don't want to live far away from them. and it's too damn hot there. but on the downside, i do have to move from my current house, but my roommates are being pretty lenient about when i can leave, so really whenever i can find a place. SO if anyone in oakland, emeryville, or berkeley knows someone who is renting a room for cheap-ish and doesn't mind if i have a (really cute and well-behaved) dog, let me know!

i have a little bit of a cold today. it's good, at least, that i have today and tomorrow off from work, so hopefully i can nip it in the bud quickly. on the bright side though, i still look pretty hood, even when i'm not feeling 100%.

I've been thinking so much lately and I've finally come to a big conclusion: I want to move back to Florida. I absolutely love the weather and the scenery of San Francisco, but no matter how nice it is here, I always feel like something is missing. I might sound like a child, but I really miss my mom and dad and have no family within thousands of miles. To top it off, while I was on vacation in Florida, I reconnected with a friend of mine who I haven't seen since 6th grade (but we both totally had middle school crushes on each other). We hung out like the entire time I was there and it was like we had been hanging out and had known each other for years, without that "i haven't seen you in 12 years" awkwardness. So yeah, needless to say, my head is elsewhere these days and I'm really longing for hot weather, hurricanes, and a tan. I haven't told my parents yet, I'm a little nervous, but I'm pretty sure they'd be excited to have me around again. I have no time frame for anything yet, just random thoughts, but I'd really like to be there in the new year if I can make it happen financially/job-wise. Eh, I don't know, SG, I just wanted to get some thoughts off of my chest, so there they are
