The party starts shortly. I've been working on being party ready most of the day....setting up some chairs, drink some beer....set up grill, drink some beer...set up music, drink more beer....prep fire pile, drink more beer....it's gonna be a fun night....that or I will pass out in about an hour.
I know it is a bit advance to mention, but we are going to have one of our many "set shit on fire and party all night" nights on Saturday, October 11th (unless the weather is unbearable) and we always say we want to just put out an open invite, so here is said invite. We have floor space and yard for those who wanna like camp out or something. Hotels within minutes away. Few rules apply. Other than no destruction of property (without permission anyway), I really only ask everyone do there best to get along with one another. So why have an open invite one may ask? Good question. Usually very few people come and stay. People tend to pass through....which is fine too, but how else can you attempt to make new friends unless you make an effort in some way right? So yeah, don't know what more to say about it really. If you think you and some friends would be interested in stopping by or spending a weekend or whatever, lemme know between now and then and I can give specifics. It may end up huge, it may end up me, the wife, a couple of people from my work, and you. You never know. Either way it usually ends up rather fun.
Well well well. Things are dandy in my world these days. (One of) my bands cd release was on Tuesday the 2nd of September. It was also my 32nd birthday. It was my first release in 6 years! I am pretty happy with the response, especially considering I was just trying to piss people off if they don't know how to laugh and take life to serious. Sales are still strong (relatively speaking), so it's a good sign. It has sparked me and my crew at my record label to dig up and upload all kinds of old projects of mine and some I was just involved with. These recordings all range from 6 years ago to 13 years ago. It is a long process of finding and uploading, so there is a ton still to do. The ever growing album downloads are all available on my personal myspace - DaveHidden or my record label myspace - Riotous Records.
In other news....
My wife has opened an Etsy store. She is just getting it started, but a long time artist. The store will continue to have things added to it over the nest few weeks and beyond that. Check her out HERE!!!!! She is also starting work on her 3rd album while I work on a new album from one of my other old bands that has decided to come back to life for an album. All this music talk, you know what else will hopefully be finished soon??? The debut album from my daughter, Lyric. She has all kinds of ideas and we have been trying to work them out with her, which at times is pretty hard because she is only 6. Hopefully it will work out though. What else? I have to go to the dentist tomorrow. It sucks, but it is also a refill on Loritabs, so you know, you have to take the good with the bad right?! I also look forward to Wings: The Complete Seventh Season coming out on the 15th! Wings is the best tv show ever made!

There was a secret free bonus shipping with all pre-orders and there are some left, so the free bonus will continue to ship with regular orders while supplies last! It isn't much of a secret anymore though. It is a 4 song e.p. we wrote, recorded, and finished in my living room in less than 6 hours one Sunday afternoon. I was overly mad at a bunch of ignorant, church going, pro-lifers who continued to argue with me that no matter what happens abortion is 100% wrong all the time. I understand there are plenty of people who think this way, and fine, I can accept that, but I in no way think that, and in no way think that I being a male, have much if any say in what a women decides to do with her body. The only opinion I have is that it should be the choice of the woman involved. No other person should have a say in it at all! Anyway, so that all being said (and trust me I could go on and beat that dead horse senseless) I had an idea to write a song about back alley abortions, and because I am a bit extreme when I am mad, and like to just piss people off no matter what the situation, I came up with the 4 song e.p. "Back Alley Abortions". (and you readers thought I got off track and this wasn't about that free bonus cd anymore didn't you.) In the end, the 4 songs suck and aren't supposed to do anything but be annoying, funny, and offensive....and the quality alone pulls that off!

Dave Hyde has never had a problem walking along a line that quite simply will offend 99% of the close-minded people that listen to his many creations. However, he may have brought it to an all time low with his latest project and seems almost to be on a mission to make sure you hate him personally by the end of the debut album from his latest project, Jesus Fucking Christ and God Damn It's. The good news is that he has found some others to join him on this project (Leopold Logan Loeb and DJ Dirty So-n' So) so he is not alone in his quest. "Noah, No" lyrically asks the question, Noah are you fucking the animals, while on "Ha Ha Your Son Is Dead," Dave takes on the roll of a preacher throughout a majority of the song and he tells the story of perishing, the needy, etc... However, in typical Dave Hyde fashion none of his albums are complete without some obscure songs that test your sense of humor and for this you need to look no further then "A Song About Muffins," where he sings and screams all about his obsession and love of you guessed it, muffins. Musically, this is one of Dave's projects that actually does have solid guitar riffs with a more hardcore feel at times masked around some of what can only be described as noise. So do you want to know the best part about this album? I am one of those few that can understand this sense of humor and therefore that made this a very fun and goofy album to listen to. So stop taking life so serious and check out "He Has Risen," and yes it may offend you at times, but that was kind of the point here so how can you call this anything but pure genius.

So, if you weren't offended enough by the debut album "He Has Risen," Jesus Fucking Christ and The God Damn It's have decided to give you a 4-song, 6-minute, EP all about abortions that starts with a disclaimer on the packaging stating that "this EP was made by choice to piss off those who believe women should not have a choice." With song titles like "Let's Abort The Pope," and "Abort Your Kids," you will most likely be offended before you even hit play. For my personal liking however, I will argue that this is actually the best work to date to come from Dave Hyde's mind. These four songs are vastly different then their debut effort. This displays elements of punk rock from the get go on "Back Alley Abortion Clinic," and later in the EP on "Abort Your Kids." The guitars contain simple riffs and are quite catchy at times and are the driving force behind the songs while Hyde's vocals are spit out quickly and often reminded me of punk rock pioneers like the Dead Kennedy's Jello Biafra. I really wasn't too sure what to expect from this EP, but was pleasantly surprised by it. Though it is going to offend people, which again seems to be the point of this band anyway, it is actually going to gain some fans as well as Hyde isn't afraid to speak his mind and it brings a more true punk rock sound to the forefront in an otherwise watered down, diet punk scene.

Well well well. I had what was one of the longest weeks ever I think. My parents, sister, sisters soon to be hubby, and my sisters soon to be step son here. It was a ton of fun. We hung at the beach, went to some caves, drank some alcohol and absinthe, and all kinds of shit. I have a ton of pictures to share, but am far too tired to mess with that right now. It was fun, but I look forward to a few days of relaxation.

I have no real news to update, but I thought I would give it a try. I've been busy with work. Busy with Lyric being off school for summer vacation. Breaking from getting more music completed...which I really shouldn't be doing at least until I finish the Jesus Fucking Christ and the God Damn It's record. I am like 2 songs from having that album out.
I burned a shit ton of stuff and drank like a mother fucker last weekend. It was a good time. Not many people showed, but we made the best of it. The night was topped off with smoking a joint rolled so tight that it wouldn't stay lit. Maybe next time I have a giant fire and people over, I will post it here and other places and see if anyone else wants to come out. It's always fun. Put out some tents for those who want or need to stay. I guess staying in the house would work just the same. Whatever. We'll do it again sometime soon.

I bought her a swing set/playground thing for the yard. Took about 9 hours to put the damn thing together. The sun did horrible things to my flesh. Sometime when I have more energy I will have to post some pictures of the kid on her new 12 X 10 playset.

So we went on a little trip to Paducha, KY the last few days. For those who don't know, it is the quilt capital of the country...according to my wife anyway. So why drive for 3 1/2 hours to the quilt capital you ask? Well, to see quilts of course. Oh and the bonus fact that Shannon (my wife) has a quilt currently on a nation wide, year long tour and it stopped in Paducha this weekend. Check it out!
