Mmmmmmm.....aligator sausage........YUM!

Funny thing is the only time I've ever had gator is when....long time ago.....in a galxy far far away......

No, wait, wrong story!

Ummmm.....I worked in a small hardware store in Houston and the owner had a cabin at a lake and he shot a gator that....well, the gator got a tad frisky with us. Anywho, he carved off the tail and cooked that bad boy.

Now, I'm sure that gator can taste yummy, but I don't think that was the best way to prepare it........cause it tasted nasty......kinda like spoiled fish. Like fish left out for a week in the hot sun. Like fish...... Well, you get the idea. YUCK! puke

Bleh. Not the best meal I've ever had.......by a damned long shot!

Hope all is rocking with you!

my sister, vinyle and i had the best fondue this past weekend and thought of you. it was a White truffle fondue with grilled focaccia bread accompanied by tomato-caper compote, mushroom duxelle & green olive tapenade. It was toe curling, orgasmic yum yum.

yum!

so is Rick Bayless a prick fuck?

On Saturday, I got to cook for Schiavona, and my cousin Clint. It was cool. Sunday, Clint and I went on a architectural tour of Chicago by river. It was super cool. I've lived here 4 years, and it was the first "touristy" thing I've done(I don't count museums). Unfortunately, it rained like crazy for about 1/3 of the trip, which made it not...

Oh my god! Now you're even cooler. A friend got me into checking the Hubble site regularly. Love. It.

Oh, Kitchen Confidential is fucking hilarious! I'm really enjoying it.
schiavona:
You so rock! It was great to meet you, and the food was to die for. Gods, that alone would make me want to move to Chico! I've been a bit.....well, let's just say the alligators and my ass have been seeing a lot of each other lately.

But, I did want to let you know (belatedly) how great it was to meet you, and how amazing the food and everything was that night.

Thanks man!

Oops.

Sorry, I was just venting a little about an ex-girl who's sorta come back around. The "fuck's" are frustration because now I have to deal with my unresolved feelings, and the "I deserve it" shit is because I do.

I need to be like a duck. Ever seen a wet duck? Duck's don't get wet, cause water just rolls off it's back. Duck's live...

Shit, man,

After mentioning that you were in need of kind words, this entry makes me send even more positive energy your way.

Give a shout if you need to get away from it all for a moment or two.

I'm sorry.

I celebrated my three year anniversary of being smoke-free today. Aug. 27th, 2002, I put out my last cigarette, and hopped a plane to visit cklarock.

CK: Dude, don't quit while you're out here! You'll be a dick the whole time!

Me: It'll be okay, I promise. I'm gonna use the patch.

One week later, I took over as exec. chef. If any of...

heh. please don't ever accept a friend request from anyone whose name starts with any letter between K and S. i love the way kikibh and my elbows touch up there.

wouldn't it have been rad if "You're so Rad" had been playing rather than the burning brides song? i think SO.

have you booked your hotel and flight stuff for dallas? i hope so!

kiss
kristie:
Hey cool! I'm rubbin' elbows with Sophie! Heh heh. I agree, no friends between K and S please.

Dude-- I was telling Kiki, but I forgot to tell you! Remember the girl that BTK grabbed because she was latina? That's the girl from Stephanie's neighborhood! And IIRC, they were about the same age!

This kid works for me while he attends Culinary school. He also is a competitive eater, as you can tell. He recently ditched the fake mustache and now wears a mohawk while competing.

Email him.

Weird weekend.

I stayed up too late on Thus night trying to finish my book, and was kinda cranky on Fri. The worst? I was up until 4:30, and didn't even finish the fucker! I only got to the beginning of the climax, but when i read the same sentence for the 7th time and still didn't understand it, I gave up.

An ogre, eh? You're a sweet guy, but we've all got it in us. An ogre with his cereal is a great visual and may, in fact, be worthy of a sketch.

Sorry you woke up with a sad day. That's always a drag, especially when it catches you off gaurd. I'm right with your approach, though. when you catch yourself feelin that feelin,' you've gotta build in a treat. It keeps the balance right and can keep the weight of the world at bay.

Your book story rings true to me. Crypronomicon was shelved for a week when I decided that it was, in no way, bed reading. I usually keep something pulpy on the bedside table just so it doesn't really bother me when I have to repeat one thought over and over again - fighting my eyes and mind to just kep going. Good fight though. Indicative of engrossing reading.

Spring certainly looks and sounds fantastic. Generally, I'm not a big poached egg guy, but when you know a kitchen's got it going on, you've gotta strip away your opinions and put yourself in the hands of people who know. I love culinary surrender. It's definitely on my short list of favorite surrenders.

Green Zebra was really close to my old place, but I never managed to eat there. I was going to go there with a friend when she came into town, but we found ourselves in the wonderful position of 'too many restaurants, too little time.'

I always found serious satisfaction in tastings for people who really knew and really gave a shit about their experience. Personally, it may have been more satisfying from behind the line - just being able to take a breath and do something off the books.

Your pork and green chili stew has been festering in my mind. Sooner or later, I'm gonna have to take the idea and start playing with variations on the theme. I don't give myself enough opportunity to adventure in the kitchen anymore. Lately, though, the voice has been back in my ear. I didn't even know I missed it.

Near...Far has cracked me up a couple of times since you mentioned it. Jest sneaking into my head and poking at me until I break and giggle.

If you're down, I have an old friend in town for a couple of weeks and I think you two would be on the same page in a number of respects. He's just a quiet, well read, and amazingly insightful guy who can just take a concept and run with the extrapolation. Great guy. One of the ones that matters.

Psychic libido has, from time to time, proven to be the best libido. When you feel it, and know it's got a hold, it's time for one of the other surrenders.

Now I have to go listen to Cheap Trick.

OOOOH!
The morels are almost here, no?
The man in my head is telling me to mate them with quail eggs. The possibilities abound.

Lust thoughts, my friend. Lusty thoughts.
