After bitching about how my parents messed my life up the other day I received some enlightenment from the most unlikely of places.. SG Chat. Today Ive come to see some full circle developments that is a testament to some of my hard work and i'm proud to say I did it against the odds.
I became very good friends with a supervisor of mine (Crystal) while working at Macys (My first job) then eventually moved around until she invited me out for drinks with her boss. When I started looking for another job, she mentioned it to her boss who requested that i come in for an interview. It wasn't really much of an interview, but more of a meet and greet. I was there for 30 minutes to meet some of the team and before I knew it I was being called to start in 2 weeks. This huge fortune 500 company and I was making more than I ever did in my life. Contract positions tend to be lucrative because they are usually not sustainable projects. Down side is you don't get the company benefits, sick and vacation days off its all done through an agency. Most people call them headhunters...
Well the experience I gained from that job has landed me an opportunity with another job that would mean moving out to Massachusetts. My friends Boss moved over to another project and recommended me to interview for this Huge Luxury Hotel Chain. I actually work for them at the Hotel level but this position will move me to their Corporate headquarters So Phone interview tomorrow and this would definitely change my life drastically.
When my contract was over at the other job I took a huge pay cut to understand hotel operations, and worked long nights just to keep on the lights. Struggled to get some school done and it seems that all of that has paid off to my benefit because I gained very a very unique skill set...If i get this Job, I'll be in a stupid ridiculous income bracket...So needless to say im very nervous. Even though I know that I'm the best fit for the...
