Does anyone have any suggestions on how to help me self induce my own labor? I'm on bedrest now, and I'm in a lot of pain. But my Midwife won't induce me until I'm 40 weeks. I'm 34 weeks now and my little girl is over 5 pounds! I've tried sex, masturbation, nipple stimulation, raspberry tea, walking, heavy lifting...I'm running out of options...Please help...

Your midwife probably knows what she is talking about. She's trained, you're not! You should listen to her.

^^ OK, well that was uncalled for. I don't see any reason why you can't ask for help here as opposed to anywhere else.

That said, WHY would you want to induce labor at 34 weeks? It's not time yet. Baby needs to cook more. I know the end of pregnancy can be hellish but the pain you are feeling is the price for the gift of a beautiful, healthy child. Be patient.

Uh, no, the baby MIGHT end up at around 8 pounds. And regardless, there are developmental things that need to be completed to insure a healthy child. Be glad that your baby is growing to a healthy size.

And my son was 9 pounds, 9 ounces and I gave birth to him vaginally and with no complications.
