Things went pretty well tonite.* Freakin A.

*I meant for recovering from crap and hanging out with the great folks, but for the Democrats too, but I mainly meant for the former, since I'm nonpartisan.

Dude, i'm pumped. Dems got the house, and will probably get the senate. I'm kinda partisan, if you couldn't tell. biggrin

I'm glad the Democrats did well. I didn't vote and I feel pretty bad about it. frown I just didn't feel that I could make an informed decision since I live in a cave and have no idea WHAT is going on out there. shocked blackeyed

I'm thinking, after writing all of that in my last journal entry, that I should try to do social things again. I have to really ask myself, though: do I really want to? I don't want to end up doing stuff because I think I "should". It's going to take some soul-searching to figure that one out. It's just that I can imagine potential social situations that would maybe not be so bad, so maybe there is something out there that I would actually enjoy.

It's good to know you've been worried about my school stuff. I've been worried, too, and the more people who I know are concerned, the more likely I'll be to find the motivation to do what I need to do. So thanks for that!

Good advice, too. In this field it's really important to do some of your own self-teaching on your own time. They teach mainly Java and C++ at my school, but as you probably know there are a zillion other programming languages out there. You pretty much have to fend for yourself and learn that stuff on your own. The nice thing about it (as I discussed with my therapist today) is that once you have the basic concepts of programming down, you can pretty much transition into any language. It's all built around the same sort of structure (something I'm kinda studying in the Elementary Theory class. Sorta.).

I took a look at the class web page for the advanced programming course I'm signed up for next semester, and it looks like they might delve into some of the other programming languages in that class. Maybe I made a good choice and it'll be a good springboard sorta thing for graduation and all that. I'll have to take a closer look at the web page.

I think that if you want a positive election, you should vote positive.

I voted "Yes"

Gay marriage, domestic partnerships, marijuana, governor, house, senate...YES!

I don't really have a link and my hard drive is all packed up. Maybe I can bring it around to Friday dinner on Friday.
