Well, I let my subscription run out again, and this time SG emailed me and offered me another year for $29, which is like almost half the price, sooooooo... I guess I'll be around all year.

I've been getting harrassed about not updating my SG blog for weeks and weeks, so here goes with a short but informative update!
We're on the edge of the "Summer Season" here, and that means busy busy busy! Not suprising, the tattoo business always picks up momentum as the weather turns nicer and everyone is out sporting more of their skin!
At Show Me Skin Art, my "home base" shop, I have been keeping booked two to three weeks out. Come Memorial Day weekend, I'll begin alternate weekends at the shop down at the Lake of the Ozarks, where we cater to the lake tourists in a more "production tattooing" kind of style. In some ways I look forward to this time of year (*ahem*profitmarginincrease*ahem*) and in other ways I don't (there just isn't enough TIME!)
I'm getting all my ducks in a row with regard for the Kansas City Tattoo Rendezvous in July. This is a fun convention that I haven't been able to attend in years, it's going to be a great time. The show takes place July 12-15, more information can be found at The APT Web site's convention page. I hope to see some of my SG friends at that show! CONTACT ME if you're hoping for an appointment, time is limited!

Time for a blog update!
What fun!
This past weekend we had the pleasure of having two of our friends from Suicide chat come down to Show Me Skin Art to see us! On Friday I tattooed Bearnked with a bright and happy looking Maneki cat. Here she is having fun under the needle:
Her "Maneki Neko" took about 4 hours and ended up looking like this...
On Saturday morning Sanguine showed up to meet me at 10 a.m. for a LONG day of work. Her tattoo took me well over 7 hours to do, and when complete looked like this...
Hollie sat like a champ for those long hours of work, I couldn't have asked her to be a better customer.
I also got to meet Shawna's boyfriend Tom, who was a very cool guy. He was handy running out to get this and that for us while we worked, and an overall helluva nice fella!
It was soooo much fun meeting Shawna and Hollie, and a great time was had by all!

In other news, we're making our plans for the Kansas City Tattoo Rendezvous, July 12-15...

Recently one of my best friends in the business, Victor Whitmill, moved back "home" to the midwest after a decade of hitting it hard in Las Vegas. Victor and I were friends before we went into our careers in tattoo, we airbrushed together in Kansas City, and in 1991 we went to work as apprentices together at a shop in Kansas City.

The weather here has turned quite pleasant this past week. That brings with it the reminder that tourist season at the Lake of the Ozarks will be right around the bend, which means another season of working weekends at the shop down there. Busy Busy Busy.
Last post I had a picture of the tattoo I put on my friend Brixton, but my brother had taken photos of her getting inked on HIS camera - he FINALLY let me have a copy of those, so I'll put one here before I close.
What can I say, I'm a huge fan of this chick!

They came to see me at Show Me Skin Art, and I spent several hours upgrading both of their hides!
