Attraction beyond the normal reasons why a person is drawn to or likes another is not jut a fantasy - it happens! This is the kind of attraction that drives you to do anything to be by that persons side, want to do things you may not usually do to make them happy and the way that person can just make your heart race, ache or miss a beat just looking at them and you wouldn't even dream of being with anyone else.
I seem to have a very low ability to feel attraction but I know I have the capacity and I have definitely experienced it in the past. Maybe it is rare and I only imagine that others find it more often but when I see people checking each other out in the street or in bars, I start to wonder - I think I may do it annually!?
There are people I love and care for that I sometimes wish I was attracted to. It makes me feel shallow that I put so much emphasis on attraction and I cannot turn it on for those that deserve me to feel that way about them but I have entered relationships in the past hoping that attraction would develop because I found the person so lovable. Sadly, it doesn't work that way.
I suppose I feel a bit frustrated but if this sounds heavier than just a few thoughts, I have written it badly. Everyone should spend some significant amount of time in their lives single and I am now at my longest time alone since a teenager. It's good for me and I'm enjoying it.
