Femme, ya had me RIGHT up until the last one on there... Ani? C'mon! tongue

Okay, I'm just kidding. My faves are FNM's "Angel Dust", "Frank's Wild Years" by Tom Waits, and "Back in Black" by AC/DC. Among others, that is.

Yeah, me too! The only song I like by her is called, "The Million You Never Made" and it's this really angry, bitchy song about not being noticed romantically. It's pretty cool smile

good gods girl! great gaggle of tunes!
though if you want to get into Ani...listen to the live stuff. she jives off her audience in a way that is amazing. I really like her...and I am only an honerary lesbian. not a real one, but I'll only listen to live recordings or go see her live.
hope things are goin supercoo'!
*hugs*

Gosh, I hear so much about Bionicfemme that I had to come check out your journal and whatnot.
I like your list...not a huge Ani fan though
My list is not necessarily all favorites, but pretty much what I have on heavy rotation in my 1 cd system. No particular order....and since some of 'em are burned I don't always know the album titles.

1. The Strokes-Is This It?
2. The Hives- Veni Vidi Vicious
3. Flashback- a compilation of 80s (pretty much New Wave)
4. The White Stripes- White Blood Cells
5. NOFX- not sure the title, but includes songs such as "Liza and Louise," "Johnny Appleseed," "Soul Doubt"
6. Gorillaz- also burned but has that Clint Eastwood song
7. Hole- Live Through This
8. Not Another Teen Movie soundtrack- it's all 80s cover songs
9. ALL NIRVANA CDs..too lazy to list them
10. Pixies-Surfer Rosa
11. Anti-Flag- Underground Network
12. Elastica- self titled i believe

But there are a bunch of cds I'm getting for xmas (ie Transplants, Distillers, Jurassic 5....forget what else)

That is all.

First off, I'd like to state that I randomly found this thread after seeing your picture while lurking around and wanted to say...."Damn. Real cute."
As for bands/records, I'd like to cast a few votes for the peeps that didn't get a shout out like...
Sigur Ros, Bjork, Cowboy Junkies: "Trinity Sessions", Black Flag: "My War", Mogwai:"Come on Die Young" (Everyone should get it on to "Cody"!), Depeche Mode: "Violator", The Cure: "Disentergration" and "Pornography", The Faint: "Danse Macbre", The Beach Boys: "Pet Sounds", Miles Davis: "Kind of Blue", Frank Zappa: "Overnite Sensation", and of course the soundtrack to Edward Scissorhands.

if you wanna rock ani, there are better albums to do so with than not a pretty girl (dont get me wrong... its good, but theres better... trust me)... "up,up,up,up,up,up" is good for experimental jammy stuff, the first live album "living in clip is way rad, but if you want some well written, gritty gogetem tunes her two best are "out of range" and "puddle dive" (the latter being more rock and roll and the former being straight up acoustic punk rock. i hope you like biggrin
