Well, I have a blossoming career as an actor that's going quite well. Unfortunately, it's not even coming close to supporting me financially. I'm not union yet so theaters can afford to pay me a pittance.
So I'm trying to find a part time job to supplement my income. Unfortunately, so is every other person in San Francisco. If you know of/have any part time openings, please please let me know.

Okay, I'm going to give in and write about school, and accept that I have no other life or insight to share.
Yesterday for out warm up/conditioning class, instead of rolling out the wrestling mat and getting our ass kicked with cardio and stretches and push up, ect, we were all told to meet in the theater, where out teacher and all the 2nd year MFAs were decked out in leotards, leggings, leg warmers, sweat bands and blue eyeshadow and we did a super 80s aerobic/dance work out video. As we're dancing around to some super sweet 80s tunes doing such dance moves as "sway mysterious" "the gypsy" and "play those bongos!" I have to stop and indulge myself in a nice shit eating grin because I'm a grad student getting class credit to jump around to 80s music like an asshole.
I love grad school for crazy theater people.
Another example:
Right now we're studying Commedia Dell'Arte (it is, after all, the Dell'Arte International School of Physical Theater founded by Carlo Mazzone) and we've constructed our own masks by first making plaster positives of our faces, then using clay on top of the positive to make the mask, and then paper mach- paper machei- paper machie (I don't even know how the fuck to spell that and I'm too lazy to look it up) anyway, papered over the clay with paper bags soaked in water and then coated in wallpaper paste. So every afternoon I run around with hardened paper bag goo on my face and act stupid/irritating/like an asshole and it's art. Sweet.

I realize that every time I try to write an entry, all I have to write about is school. And since none of you go to school with me, you would most certainly not be interested in my insights into the program and how it makes me both wonderful and crazy.
So, my life's been eaten by the grad school monster. How's yours?

when I joined SG, I think the number of girls was equal to the current number of girls in the archive, yikes.
I've realized that somewhere along the way I've turned into a totally neurotic basket case. Damn.
I saw a lot of great movies this year.
I just saw Brokeback Mountain today with my dad, and I loved it. We both did. And here's a little listy of some of my favorite movies this year (In no particular order)
-March of the Penguins
-Broken Flowers
-Jarhead
-Harry Potter !!!!
-Narnia (I know it wasn't the best film ever, but it made me happy)
-Sin City
-Brokeback Mountain
-Corpse Bride
-Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.
It was a good year for Jake G.
I also really liked Happy Endings, as well as Good Night and Good Luck
And there are still a bunch of movies I want to see: Munich, The Producers, The Family Stone, Memoirs of a Geisha (even though I heard it's kind of crapy, but I love the book and I just want to see what they did with it) and I'm sure there are others.
Yay. I love movies.

got my tattoo worked on. I would post a picture but it looks like shit right now, since all the white is just pink and gross.
in other words I had a productive day during which I:
♥ survived a dentist appointment and two fillings (okay, I brush, floss, AND use antiseptic mouth wash ON A DAILY BASIS and yet I still get cavities. I know people who've never flossed and yet also never had a cavity. Why me?)
♥ finished all the christmas shopping for me and for my parents (I'm santa's little helper)
♥ Made the most excellent toffee with mixed nuts and chocolate
♥ made 1. orange cardamom caramel sauce and 2. espresso caramel sauce. These will be given in cute little glass jars (purchased at The Container Store, I love that place I swear I could spend millions there) as gifts.
♥ got a big chunk of my crafty presents done.
♥ and of couse I did all of this looking fabulous with my bright holiday hairdo. rock.
now it's time for bed. I earned it.

HOME!!!!!!!
I cannot express how happy I am to be here, back in the bay area.
I had a lovely day today. I'm even enjoying the rain. Although, I wish it weren't so cold because I'm going to see Chanticleer tonight in SF and the dress I wanted to wear isn't very warm...oh well. I'm very excited for my date tonight. Dinner at Clementine and tickets for two for the Chanticleer christmas concert with my bestest friend Jessica. Yay.
