It was requested that I find some pictures of me when I was working at Eleventh Hour Haunted House. So I went onto their Facebook page to find some pictures that the haunt and the customers took with me. A couple were tagged from my friends too!
This is the one I took of myself on night with my low quality phone.
And of course the mask!
These ones were all shared with me:
Here's one of me and my twin sister. Don't we look exactly alike?!?!... maybe not...
Either way, it was very fun, and very tiring. And yes, I was smiling that smile the entire month I was working. The sweetest creepy character ever. I did end up dressing down that costume and making a "nice" version for my Halloween party on Saturday. So here are my other Halloween adventures leading up to and at my party!
First things first, I had a couple of projects... because I can't possibly take a day off in October or I'm afraid I might die:
This is the fake pumpkin I carved for the company my mom works for, Andrew Harper Travel. That's where you go to find the best vacation spots around the world if you have so much money you don't know what else to do with it.
I also figured since I sculpted a pumpkin for the first time last year, that I would try out painting them this year. And what better to paint than Nightmare Before Christmas??
And I put together a little costume/makeup project for my friend's party the night before my own. I'm the cowardly lion. It's fun having professional makeup to play with. And holy crap is that the most comfortable costume EVER!!! It's basically really baggy full body pajamas with a tail and some fluff on the edges.
As for the party, I think my favorite part of the decoration process was making my bathroom infested with spiders. Aren't they cute?!?!?
But I ended up spending all of Saturday before the party started just making a total of 36 cupcakes. But man were they worth it!!
This one was apple-cinnamon with a caramel center topped with cream cheese frosting. There are sugar-glass candy shards stabbing the poor cupcakes, making them bleed. I never knew how easy and fun it was to make candy!!
Here is the mint-chocolate cupcakes with chocolate-oreo toppings. The skeletons are made of sculpted marshmallows and tictacs for the spine... (with a couple of worms hanging out in the dirt)
And the third set of 12 cupcakes were my personal favorite. Simple, but fun, these were normal chocolate cupcakes with meringue topping (not toasted, just tastes like melted marshmallows) and chocolate chip features. But me being the person who sees a facial expression in all inanimate objects... this was the perfect job for me!
And my little buddy I made with the leftover meringue. Reminds me of Nightmare Before Christmas and the Ghostbusters...
It was well worth the work! There were many more people there than usual, and it was a GREAT party. Here's me as the nice doll with my boyfriend, Keith:
The second place winner of the costume contest: Jen as Scarface
And first place winner: Steve as Han Solo
As well as a couple ninjas getting ready for battle... I wonder who will win
Even my pets got into the spirit!!! (Turtie the turtle)
(Rocco the dog: aka "trouble" or "devil dog") <--- Reference: also the dog that got drunk at our 3rd of July party.
I hope you all enjoyed your holiday to some extent. I have to remind myself that most of the world doesn't go as crazy as I do at this time of year. And look forward to the wonderful holidays ahead!!!
