So, the whole love/relationship thing...ppfftt!

I continue to be amused by the odd behaviors of men and women who are on the search for 'love'. I don't understand why people just aren't blunt and up front about their feelings and thoughts on relationships, whether it be as friends or more. No games and honesty would certainly make the world a much better place to live in...lol

Dating pretty much sucks! I'm not actually sure why I continue to torture myself with the company of people who appear to be one thing and are actually another. Strangely enough I suppose I have actually have met some intriguing people along the way but they too are "lost in translation".

I think I have pretty much come to the realization that I will just have to ride this wave all by my lonesome! I suppose there is a possibly of the sporatic company of men and women who amuse me in short bursts.

Ahhh, love and life! tongue

Ain't it the truth!! I have friends who are absolutely lost if they are not in a "relationship." Consequently, they seem to adopt an "Any Port In A Storm" mentality where they will hook up with whoever is available and then fight like Hell to keep the relationship going long after it's become obvious to everyone else that they are doomed!!

Over the years, I've certainly experienced my share of failed relationships and past a point you really have to ask yourself why you keep going down the same road making the same mistakes? I haven't "dated" anyone or even been interested in dating anyone for over two years now, and I can honestly say I'm much happier!! So much so, that I really don't think I'll ever be interested in being in another relationship! Perhaps it's just selfishness on my part, but I don't want to be accountable to anyone. I don't want to have to entertain anyone, or deal with their problems, or have to explain what I'm doing, where I'm going, or who I'm with? In a word, I've learned to love my freedom, and I simply can't imagine anyone could ever be so special to me that I would ever be willing to give that up!! I hate to say never, because there are damn few absolutes in live, but if someone that special were to fall into my life, they would have to be pretty damn independent and trusting!!

I haven't had a long-term relationship that's worked out either. I agree that honesty is best in a relationship. It's something that I often don't find. I think it's usually because of the kind of women I've dated. I believe that in relationships, the partners should just be honest with eachother, but not in a hurtful way. I don't believe in the cliche of, "the truth hurts." I think lies REALLY hurt.

Yea, honesty is definitely always the best policy! I agree that lies are the worst possible thing in a relationship.

I know full well about the 'any port any storm' people...lol I would say I used to be one but thankfully I realized that there is so much more to life. smile
