Holy crap. As of today,for 10 years (off and on) I’ve been a member of this site and community. It blows my mind sometimes, when I think about it. Almost one third of my life. I know I've said some of this stuff before, but considering today is my anniversary, I felt I needed to mark the occasion.
I've met some amazing people on SG, some of whom have even become actual family members (
DaddyX &
Peggy I'm talking to you two). I've made some great friends all over the country, I learned how to open up and try new experiences. Because of this site and the friends and connections I've made here, I became pretty accomplished transcontinental air traveller in my early and mid 20s. I owe my family and my current life (which aside from a few niggles, I fucking LOVE) to the friends, experiences and growth that SG helped lead me to in my young adulthood.
I'm not saying SG is a magical cure-all and I had nothing to do with my personal growth. Far from it, but I'd be remiss if I ignored the impact it had on me in those formative years.

Luxe was probably the first Suicidegirl that I saw pictures of online; she was definitely the first I would've considered a favorite. I
previously discussed how I first became aware of the site; but even after I was aware it was a while before I joined. Before I joined the site I found pics from photosets swirling around the net and hers were among them. Before I knew how awesome the people and community was here, it was all about ladies in various states of undress. If the was one that convinced me to pull the trigger and join the site, it was her.
Luxe left the site about a year and a half after I joined and I never got to really interact with her like some of the women who have shot sets for the site and that I have come to think of friends (name dropping is so gauche;
implied name dropping is where it's at).

I think the point is, I feel like no matter what the future holds, because of the connections I've made, experiences I've had and personal growth that I've undergone due either directly or in part to this site, it's always going to be a part of me in one way or another.
