A friend of mine suggested I write a book. It's something I've considered a number of times as a sort of pipe dream, but this suggestion actually seems doable. I'd essentially be parodying the Bible, rewriting it in my own voice (or something close to it), and I'm starting to think I could actually accomplish that and it would be worth reading for a laugh.
I do have an eye for the absurd, and the Bible certainly offers a lot of that.
The question is, is it just self-indulgent or would such a project actually be interesting or controversial enough to make anyone but me and my close friends want to read it?
I wonder.
I will say, posting here on SG in various groups has reawakened my love of language. I truly do enjoy crafting sentences for the sharpest clarity and, when I can summon it, wit. I might just be able to rouse myself to do this project.
