I guess I'll write a blog.
So I'm spending the winter living in Maine, renting a furnished house for real cheap with a nice ocean view. I feel pretty fortunate to be living here. So here's the thing, I'm supposed to be quitting smoking cigs and I don't smoke in the house. But one of the best things about living here is I get to drink in the view when I'm outside smoking a cigarette.
I look out at the ocean, there's been a lot of mallard ducks, there was a fox in the yard today, and two bald eagles where I usually only see one. All of this, I'll miss when I quit smoking because I probably won't just step out onto the deck when its freezing out.
Its been cool living here, too, because the Eagles are very vocal. I usually just see eagles soaring about silently but these ones call pretty frequently. Sometimes, I hear them but don't see them. Its beautiful, and I'm trying to learn more about birding and bird calls, and with their help I've learned to identify it without fail.
Three more months, and I'll move out and start work up again. I work on trail crew at Acadia National Park, mostly doing stone masonry and work. Here's a pic
