Don't know if you are still on your sex hiatus but I've been working my way through "A Woman Speaks" by Anais Nin and parts of it seem to speak to the struggle of a woman to create relationships but remaining centered focused and strong. I thought of what you said about sheltering in other people and she seems to speak to that tendency. It is kind if dated but strangely relevant (heard of it from Annalee)
