NEMISIS SAYS: “When I decided I wanted to be a Suicidegirl my first set idea was to shoot something by an abandoned house I had seen in the woods on the island a couple months prior to turning eighteen. It was winter, snow everywhere and the car barely made it to the spot. To my dismay that house had been torn down and this initial idea was put on hold - for years and years - until this summer. A little less northern gothic, and a hell of a lot more southern gothic, but still this is something I've wanted to do for as long as I've been part of this site. It's a big part of me, it is what I love the most: exploring rural decay. I could spend my whole lifetime just imagining what went on in these carcasses of wood or stone before whoever lived there decided to get up and leave. Dreaming up romantic and ghoulish scenarios, all the stories... all the people. All the creatures. Everything that inhabited these grounds that now stand vulnerable and alone.”

“ The SuicideGirls Phenomenon is optimistic, it is a living, breathing, expression of youth culture right now... A lifestyle brand for Generation Y in the way Playboy was a cultural beacon for the swinging bachelors of the 1960's and 70s. ”

“ Thank God someone has benefited from the internet. It's not just eBay and AMazon. Somebody has made a name that's not just monetary but a cultural icon. ”
