Hello SG landers,
I'm think I'm long due for an update.
Last year, I packed my bags and ditched New York for the motherland. Probably one of the last places I'd expect to end up.

It's hard to sum up what I have to say about Beijing in just this one blog. I can say I've been disappointed and pleasantly surprised. Sometimes it's exceptionally beautiful in all its chaos, its timeless culture and all its unexpected, brilliant architectural moments; sometimes it's disillusioning, in all its hopeless consumerism, its blind emulation to the west, its pollution and bureacracy.
I still don't know whether I love or hate this place. But being here for this long has definitely opened my eyes, socially and politically. I think I will save those rants for later blogs.
Anyway, this is my glorious life now!
A typical Saturday morning bike ride through the Hutongs.

This is where I work now.

View from the office.

Last week, I camped out at the abandoned parts of the wall.

And some of my favorite people in this city.

Best of luck to all of y'all!
xx
