the cure
tori amos

when i'm feeling down i put on my cure double of 'pornography' followed by 'disintegration'. brings me right back up, no matter what's going on.
i have to say tori too cos i love her voice, so haunting. in the same way i'd go for jewel. her songs aren't necessarily depressing but her voice has this amazingness about it that brings me right down into a kind of mellow depression.

the swans they are amazing, very depressing sometimes, but amazing none the less. some people i know ask me why i like a band that quote" makes them want to kill themselves" but i don't see it that way, i see it as someone being able to portray true dark deep motion, and if music can cause you to feel any emotion, it's good in my book. unless it's disgust, like when i listen to justin timberlake... puke
