I was really suprised to not see Lacuna Coil in anyones profiles when I looked it up. I'm sure that they have been talked about on this board before but don't they just fucking rock? I hear they are on tour or are going on tour, but I can't find any info, so If you have any can you please help me...

If you have no idea what I'm talking about go DL Hyperfast by Lacuna Coil. robot

i'm worried though about Century Media trying to push Cristinia Scabbia as a "sex symbol" like they did with Angela of Arch Enemy...while she is hot, i'd like for people to focus more on the good vocalist that she is and how good of a band Lacuna Coil is rather than how good she looks. but oh well, i guess sex sells whatever

CRAZY! I interveiwed her and mentioned this a a while back, here's her take on it.

Uranium: Now, I’m sure you get enough of this but I’d like to touch on the topic, because after doing a lot of research on the band I’ve noticed a lot of websites and articles have presented you as a sex symbol and focus on your looks just as much, if not more than your music. Does this anger you in any way or cause any friction in the band?

Cristina: [Laughs] No!, it’s really funny actually seeing what people will think of you because of a picture. I’m a really normal person, if you’d see me walking down the street you wouldn’t see me as a hot girl or anything like that. I’m really normal but I like to play with my femininity. I’m happy to be a female who can play with my image the way I want. It’s a part of this work, people can dream about you and imagine anything about you and that doesn’t bother me.

if you want the rest go to: http://www.uraniummusic.com/music/interviews/lacunacoil.shtml

I also understand your concern on that! But, I assure you, Century Media wouldn't be the one to do it, I have worked with them, and with Lucuna Coil, both of which are extremely dedicated to the music. Ironicly enough, the PR agent who works with Lacuna Coil is without a doubt the essence of "suicide girl" at heart. By no means would she, lacuna coil, or CM be behind that... from what I've seen... but as a lot of mags have now shown, it's all up too what catches the eye... if they put her on the cover, it sells... so they do.... I just hope no one buys records for the same reason... that would be a sad case of a wrong reason to by the right music.

i know no one's replied to this in a couple days but i have to say it:
my god i love lacuna coil.
i love cristina, she is a sweetheart and seriously just like she says, she doesn't consider herself a sex symbol, she's really the most beautiful, intelligent, and absolutely down to earth girl i've ever met. i spent a lot of time with them last summer and it was the greatest times i've had. they are all sweet people who are completely grounded.
they deserve all the success they get.

I like this band a whole lot, but for the life of me, I CANNOT stand their male vocalist. He totally ruined Comalies for me. His singing just sounds so damn cliche and inept to me. To add insult to injury, his voice was so damn loud in the mix while Cristina's sounded buried by comparison. The album is great in every other aspect, but I kept wishing that male singer would shut the fuck up! puke

edited to add: that was the only CD I ever owned by them. I'm hoping to find other albums where laughing boy keeps his fucking mouth shut.

They really are awesome. Every time they perform nearby, we go out and get drunk. Maus and Cris are probably my favorites, they're so silly. I don't mind Andrea's vocals, but I do wish that Cristina would get turned up at shows.

I've seen them a ton of times now, and they totally rock every single time. Especially when they first come out and just slam the audience with To Live is to Hide.
