Are there any noise fans on the site besides me and Amber? Anyone listening to Aube, Merzbow, Speculum Fight, P16.D4, Masonna, Gerogerigegege, Incapacitants, Princess Dragon Mom, Cranioclast, MSBR, Chop Shop, Beequeen, Big City Orchestra, Tac, Leif Elggren. Small Cruel Party>>you guys up north?

I'm not showing off my wacky music knowledge. I actually collect all these bands. Anyone like any of this shit?

I like noise but rarely go out of my way to buy it. Gerororogogeeehgeee (however the Hell you spell it) is awesome. I make plenty of noise. I just don't buy much of it.

I love noise. I have some Merzbow (1940) and other stuff you can consider noise since it ain't exactly very musical. A lot of what you listed I don't even know though since I'm too lazy right now to go find out what the hell is going on.

I wish I had really good speakers and stereo so I could get the full effect of NOISE.

robot cool smileys.

i did see big city orchestra with the legendary pink dots about 11 years ago, but overall i'm not a big noise fan. in the early nineties, i really preferred industrial dance to industrial noise.

except for negativeland, baby! i do realize it can be argued that they're technically not 'noise,' but i personally put them into that category. miao!! miao!! miao!! miao!! miao!! miao!! kiss kiss kiss kiss kiss

i just love the new gremlins! biggrin

Hey Prudence. We've never talked, but I've been mustering up the courage to say something to you.

Do you know how many time zones there are in Soviet Union? 11!

And look, these are four guys from England and who gives a shit!

Fuck Snuggles!

This is a given. Everybody knows this. But it bears repeating nonetheless.

I didn't mean to ignore Y-Eye or Yoshimi. I love those guys! But, I was going for more, pure noise. I used to make 8mm films and project them on my ceiling while I blasted noise records. That's how demented I am. Women really, really hated it. Something about that scene doesn't click for my favorite gender. Oh well. That's just one piece of the sweet, sweet clovesbud cake.

i'm more into the soothing sounds of lull, main, labradford, final, vitriol, illusion is safety, jim o'rourke's various prepared guitar stuff, anything jim plotkin has touched, null, hands to, tribes of neurot, bastard noise, terminal sound system, scorn, ruhr hunter, robert rich, aube, etc, etc, ad infinitum

I really don't see what's so demented about that. A good trick is to play around 3 ambient and/or noise cds at the same time... sometimes accompanied by untuned AM radios or circuit-bent keyboards. This is good for background music if you're working on something, or if you just want to watch good movies with the sound off. Or on.

Now imagine me as a 17 year old doing that. Watching "Blue Velvet" 3 times a day. With only one of those 15 watt deep blue lightbulbs in my room. And a broken, half-collapsed bed. Yeah, girls don't really dig that kinda stuff usually. I stunk pretty badly, too.

scorn is great. i never thought of them as noise. techno animal has recorded quite a bit that could be considered noise.

I like Aube, Merzbow, and Princess Dragon Mom. I like to listen to lighter stuff though, like lovesliescrushing or anaphylaxis more often. I did like the Dara album put out by Time Stereo though.

Oh yes.. Melt Banana and the Locust...

Eve and I ended up on the radio a month or two ago, sitting in on someone else's show. I made them play Melt Banana (who they hadn't heard of before). Between that and us egging on convicts calling in collect and talking about Eve being "your friendly neighborhood porn model", I don't think they liked us much. We saw them a week later at the movies and they didn't sit by us.

So I don't think we'll be hosting any more radio shows in the near future.
