Alright you come home you're drunk in a good mood what do you listen to.

If I'm feeling particularly goofy I have many of bad CD's for whatever occasion but Abba, Vanilla Ice, Jimmy Buffet or 80's hair metal do the trick

ok, i just made a cd last week of drinking/drunk songs for my friend's 21rst birthday, so i don't even have to think that hard about this one...i'd have to say some AC/DC, certain Dropkick Murphys songs, Tha Liks, and the Transplants' "Tall Cans in The Air"

It depends on what kind of drunk I am. Sometimes I tend to go for the "deep" stuff so I can say "oh my god, I understand this song SOOOOOOO much" eeek

Other times I go for the goofy stuff and end up rocking out to "I Know What Boys Like"

I like to listen to Irish protest songs. For example:

JOIN THE BRITISH ARMY

When I was young I had a twist of punching babies with me fist
And I thought I would enlist and join the british army.

Too ra loo ra loo ra loo, they're looking for monkeys up in the zoo
And if I had a face like you, I would join the British army.

When I was young I used to be as fine a man as ever you'd see;
The Prince of Wales, he said to me, "Come and join the British army."

Sarah Camdon baked a cake; it was all for poor old Slattery's sake.
I threw meself into the lake, pretending I was balmy.

Corporal Duff's got such a drought, just give him a couple of jars of stout;
He'll kill the enemy with his mouth and save the British Army.

Too ra loo ra loo ra loo, Me curse is on the Labour crew;
They took your darling boy from you to join the British army.

Captain Heeley went away and his wife got in the family way,
And all the words that she would say was "Blame the British Army."

Too ra loo ra loo ra loo, I've made me mind up what to do
I'll work my ticket back to you and leave the British army.

Good man, Elvis. I was thinking the same thing. Nothing like a good Irish song for a drunken mood.

I lean towards the Pogues' "Salle Maclennane"

Sally MacLennane

Well Jimmy played harmonica in the pub where I was born
He played it from the night time to the peaceful early morn
He soothed the souls of psychos and the men who had the horn
And they all looked very happy in the morning

Now Jimmy didn't like his place in this world of ours
Where the elephant man broke strong men's necks
When he'd had too many Powers
So sad to see the grieving of the people that he's leaving
And he took the road for God knows in the morning

We walked him to the station in the rain
We kissed him as we put him on the train
And we sang him a song of times long gone
Though we knew that we'd be seeing him again
(Far away) sad to say I must be on my way
So buy me beer and whiskey 'cause I'm going far away (far away)
I'd like to think of me returning when I can
To the greatest little boozer and to Sally MacLennane

The years passed by the times had changed I grew to be a man
I learned to love the virtues of sweet Sally MacLennane
I took the jeers and drank the beers and crawled back home at dawn
And ended up a barman in the morning

I played the pump and took the hump and watered whiskey down
I talked of whores and horses to the men who drank the brown
I heard them say that Jimmy's making money far away
And some people left for heaven without warning

We walked him to the station in the rain
We kissed him as we put him on the train
And we sang him a song of times long gone
Though we knew that we'd be seeing him again
(Far away) sad to say I must be on my way
So buy me beer and whiskey 'cause I'm going far away (far away)
I'd like to think of me returning when I can
To the greatest little boozer and to Sally MacLennane

When Jimmy came back home he was surprised that they were gone
He asked me all the details of the train that they went on
Some people they are scared to croak but Jimmy drank until he choked
And he took the road for heaven in the morning

We walked him to the station in the rain
We kissed him as we put him on the train
And we sang him a song of times long gone
Though we knew that we'd be seeing him again
(Far away) sad to say I must be on my way
So buy me beer and whiskey 'cause I'm going far away (far away)
I'd like to think of me returning when I can
To the greatest little boozer and to Sally MacLennane

Ok, Flame, Elvis, I have THREE bottles of Powers in my cupboard RIGHT NOW and a HUGE inclination to start the weekend off now AND every damned Pogues songs ever made EVER on a machine. Let's do the job, fellas....

The Pogues, to be sure!

If I'm drunk and alone (yeah, shaddap it sounds worse than it is!) I can dig listening to Nick Cave or The Afghan Whigs.

Pog ma toin!

I've never listened to music while drunk. I generally only play video games drunk. But if i did i imagine it would be Rufus Wainwright. Some great cabaret drunkeness.

Is this heartbreak or is this heartburn?
Have I been played or do I need a rolaid?
Gotta learn the difference when I love ya
The difference when I love ya and the symptoms of ebola

Is this heartbreak or is this heartburn?
Can I be spared from being so dramatic?
Gotta learn the difference when I love ya
The difference when I love ya and that derailed rollercoaster

Gonna rain down on my sunny Sunday shoes
Guess best I get some galoshes

Let me tell you that this song's useful
Yes this song's useful when you're really drunk
And you gotta learn the difference when I love ya
The difference when I love ya and whatever.

I'm with Elph, Flame, and the rest...Pogues and Nick Cave when I'm drunk. I'd say more the latter. I'm a sentimental drunk.

Unless of course, it's Jager...then I want to put Black Flag's "My War" on repeat and break shit.
