Did a search and there're no threads for Ratatat.

It seems like everyone and their mom around here are listening to this album. Which makes sense, because I find it damn good, but also about 80% of the way to oversaturatedly ironic.

Thoughts?

What band? What are you talking about? Is there a band called "I've been rapping 'bout seventeen years..."? That guy is playing an Epiphone Olympic. Is it the one that was stolen from me in Duluth, MN in 1989? If it is I want it back!

That poster image is going to stick in my head the rest of the day and randomly bring on bouts between my sane self and my tendency to laugh at ridiculously funny shit outloud in public, under the watchful eyes of cautious strangers.

This is me trying to contain my laughter.

That album suffers from what I like to call DP-DS (Daft Punk - Discovery Syndrome).

It blows its load in the first four tacks, leaving an arguably mediocre taste in your mouth for the rest of the album.

The first four, however, are GREAT. Seventeen Years is one of my #1 tracks for 2004.

aside: Search for Ratatat on Amazon, and it brings up #1- Ratatat Ratatat, #2 - A Wrinkle In Time by Madeline L'Engle, and #3 - Foucault's Pendulum by Umberto Eco.

Fuck yeah.
