So, I'm trying to bring someone into my little fold of SP appreciation, and am having a VERY hard time thinking of the right songs for him. If you're a true fan, you know what I mean. Yes, I put Worlock on the list. And God's Gift Maggot... But I need some suggestions for more songs... Which ones *REALLY* spoke to you?

I know a lot of people don't like Process so much (including the band) but I got a guy really digging on SP after he heard Amnesia. I think most of the best tracks have been listed.... it really depends on my mood as to which are my favourites. Good luck! But remember even cEvin said Skinny Puppy is not for everybody, in fact for very few people who like their music to hit harder and deeper.

tin omen and assimilate have proven to be the most user-friendly, in my experience, when it comes to getting people to like it. the song that hooked me was "candle", tho.

teehee, anger's not so hard to play! much of cEvin's drumming is hard to replicate as it is many times drum machine + drums, but it's always fun to try. Spasmolytic anyone?

i have been waiting for this question!!!-but it's almost a impossible one to answer considering Puppy's sound changes so much from album to album.....so, ummmm i would start with DIG IT or the CHOKE....ANGER was a great suggestion too.....mmmmm, so many choices but seriously, just hand them a copy of MIND TPI and that should do it...that's where i started.
A viewing of Ain't It Dead Yet couldn't hurt either.
brap on.

Each work of theirs was so different, I'd probably include pieces from throughout their history. But however you structure it, no intro would be complete without "God's Gift (Maggot)".

Absolutely. I want to make sure this is going to represent how SP fueled the self-progression passion in my life well enough that it might start a spark for him....

(I take my music very seriously in case you haven't noticed... heh)

aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

this truly is a thread i can dig (get it, dig it? i'm such a loser.)

ok, my husband and i have come to a minor consensus here, although it took a big of manipulation on my part.

i think testure is one of the catchiest songs in the history of the batcaver clubs we used to go to.

inquisition, so gorgeous.
rivers, same category as above.

rodent, tin omen, and chainsaw, kick fucking ass.

i think i'm going to slap on my best of sp disk i made last summer, yippee!
