what was the last band you've seen that are past there prime but still kicking.

My favorite are washed up hair metal acts, I've seen Ratt, Quiet Riot and Vince Neil all past there prime and I'm going to see Great White saturday night.

others include
the Misfits (on warped tour)

"THe Rolling Stones" They were pretty damn cool in the 60's evrn the 70's. OMG !STOP already! These guys need to fucking retire and make some room for the new school.....Go out with a bang. Live fast , die young. Its almost sad, people are trying to relive their youth seeing these old fuckers play. Maybe we should start somekind of protest or something? I'll back you if you want to.

I forgive washed up bands that keep playing their old hits....i mean, everybody gets old, and playing music still beats a day job any day of the week.

Its when bands past their prime keep making NEW boring albums that suck and sully their whole discography & reputation that I get pissed. Stones are a pecrfect example...Sony signed them for 7 albums in the mid 90's. We're only halfway thru. ;(

I went and saw the Misfits with dez and marky. I gotta say for a bunch of old guys they still rock. Jerry is still tough as shit, marky still has his gabbagabba hey days hair and dez can belt out the black flag anthems like no other.

Also I went and saw Franki Valli and Lu Cristy last summer and those guys can still shake it and hit the high notes on Dec. 1963...

yeah but they aren't the Misfits and should stop playing out as such, it's more like a punk cover band, it's kinda sad

I saw the Velvet Underground in Prague, sans Nico, in the 90's. It was fun, but I'm sure nothing like their early shows wink

David Byrne is still great in concert, for all you old Heads fans

Oh yeah and the BAUHUAS show af SF's Warfield a few years back was fucking great. Young goths, old goths in tuxes, and various freaks... it was a scene.

I think the Business need to hang up their boots. The last thing that they put out that was any good was "The Whole Truth and Nothing but the Truth" and from what I've been told, most of that album was written by Lars Fredricksen. I also think AFI needs to either find a style or hang it up. I'm tired of seeing Davey Havok change every year.

You've never seen past there prime until you go to a cruise ship. I've worked so many shows of groups that just need to STOP! Many of them are only one guy who still has rights to the name and the songs and the rest are all half the original guys age. List as follows....

The Coasters
The Platters
Fifth Dimension
Peter Noone (the only still kickin' Hermin's Hermit)
Charo
BJ Thomas ( the Growing Pains theme among others)
The Osmond Brothers

I did see David Byrne at the Rose Gardens up by the zoo. That was a great show biggrin

Alice Cooper. He's still the greatest show on earth! Two hours of non-stop high-power bone-crunching high-theater rock without a pause. On tour now. You won't regret it.

OK even worse than bands playing passed there prime is bands playing mostly new material when they know people only came to see them do the hits. Case in point, I saw the singer for Great white on saturday night and he played 60% new solo material and only 4 or 5 Great White "hits" it was such a let down.

somebody mentioned the Rolling Stones, when I think of them I think of the line from "Only Famous" where the new manager guys is selling the fact that they need a new manager and one of his lines is "If you think Mick Jagger is going to be up on stage when he's 50 years old your sadly mistaken"
