Jello Biafra and The Melvins to release album

Set to be released this summer....Not sure how to feel about this. I like both of these camps for what they do-so this should be interesting little slab of vinyl. Has anyone heard any of this material leaked or what not? I guess it runs the gambit from politico rants to slow burn Melvins glory....and hits some new directions for both artists.....thoughts?

There's always room for Jello.
He rules, the one he did with Mojo NIxon, Prairie Home Invasion, is one of my favorite albums. I hope to meet him if/when I go to the 5th HOPE this summer

Yes....He is a hell of a nice guy...when I lived in denver I met him at a spoken word show...and he chatted with me about growing up in Colorado which is a very liberal state...but over run by hippies --especially when he was growing up ( in Boulder) ...I guess this album is a bit of a mixture of his album with DOA and some of the lard stuff as filtered through the Melvins sounds....should kick some ass...

Jello is good people.

Maybe so, but he is also a no-talent publicity hound. Also, I'm not so sure the other DKs would agree with him being "good people" (unless, that is, "good people" is code for "royalty-stealing egomaniac").

egomaniacs may be frustrating but they undeniably make the world go around... and they know it.
As for Jello with The Melvins, I'll give it a listen.

This project stinks of "has-been-ism."

Hostile Ambient Takeover isnt a far cry from that, its definitely a step in the direction of their older stuff

I saw them a few times in their heyday. They sucked. I always considered them a novelty act that played joke songs. Very lightweight.

Just about anything the Melvins do, I'll give it a spin. Just because they're the fucking Melvins, boys.

This could be a one shot deal.

I'm sure it will be after it sells 600 copies.

I feel slightly cheated that Jello didn't come out when I saw them last month. You'd think if anywhere he'd show up in SF right?

That is all it is....a one off of tracks started last year inbetween Fantomas/spoken word/ et all stuff that Buzz and Jello do...
