We've been getting a bit of backlash on the THICK site for posting a SG banner and for the Sex & Subversion / Suicide Girls promotion. Would love to have some of you guys chime in. the thread is titled "might as well kill your girlfriends & sisters" and accuses THICK and SG.com of sexism and objectification. "I'm not comfortable supporting a record label that says it's ok to turn my sister into an object that men can mentally rape."

"Might as well kill your girlfriends and sisters?"

"Mentally rape?"

Sheesh. I wonder how many of them actually visited the site to see what it was all about?

Don't get me wrong; I commend the gentleman for his motives. But I am so tired of hearing nonsense like this...

Funny to have such comments when this person has obviously never been a member of this site to make any sort of objective statement. I think the proper way of addressing it is via a term known as "get a life."

If I hear the word "objectification" one more time I swear I am going to scream.

And I love how people who talk shit like that don't even bother to take into account how ACTUAL SGs feel about the site. Even if they asked the girls here if they feel used, or objectified, or abused, you know they would just ignore everything they don't want to hear.

that guy is like a second wave anti-pornography feminist. his heart was in the right place, he just hasn't gotten to the "reclaiming sexuality" part yet.

That's right Morgan...you're being objectified...you just don't know it. I'll tell you how you should feel...that's much easier. wink

Websites like Suicidegirls help in showing that the stereotypical beauty isn’t always the ideal. I can see how people believe that pornography is pornography, and it doesn’t further women’s rights no matter what the medium. However, they fail to realize that we have a long, tedious journey until the female species isn’t considered second-rate, and should applaud ventures such as this for helping, at the very least, break down the unrealistic standards of mainstream beauty most people think they have to live up to. Considering the membership statistics for SG, I’d have to say the message that you are beautiful not matter what your body size or interests is being embraced and celebrated by many who will hopefully carry it into the future and make a positive difference.

That being said, I love women with enormous ta-tas.
