I'm going to assume you mean more "favorite song of the moment" and not "all time favorite song as of that date," so, you know, the song you were listening to over and over again but maybe stopped listening to as much, rather than the song that was your favorite song ever right then.

I'm also going to say 2000-2004 is an astronomically large timespan for music. Just say "sometime in 2002" and be done with it.

Anyhow, that was just before I joined SG, and I was living in Santa Ana at the time, and I remember listening to Interpol's "PDA" a lot back then.
