I bet they are already talking about this on the SGNY group, but I just saw the Placebo show here in New York, and for the one of the songs in the encore set, Brian Malkos said "This one is dedicated to SuicideGirls.com!"
I screamed back a "fuckin YEAH" But the I realized that there were probably some hardcore long time SG members at the show wondering who the poseur was yelling about the site when he wasn't even in the SGNY Chapter. Still, I thought it was fucking cool. And that show was awesome. They played a cover of "Where is My Mind?" at the end. I can't quite find the right adjective to express how great that was, but I'm sure you all get the idea.

Dude, I was into Placebo back in 98. Then they got lame. I heard their last cd now on astralwerks is kinda good. whatever. Now all the uber-hip-asian-scenester-too-cool-for-you crowd is sportin their 1" pins and I just laugh.
Fucking hipsters.

i screamed too. i'm not a member of SGNY, either. i liked that story about Bowie, and the cover of Where Is My Mind? was the perfect ending.

brian is a fan of the site smile (obvious i guess by his dedication) anyway, they played really well live when i saw them, best i'd ever seen them. they started out great, and i'm a long long time fan, and i lost track of them, but i'm starting to get into their newer music now....and i still love them.

Yeah dude, hipsters always make a good band's music sound bad, right?

Uh, you can talk semantics all you want, but if they schedule a New York City show I can possibly score tickets to, I'm fucking there, whether it has anything to do with this site or not. And just for the record, I'm not in the SGNY group either.

that is the most hipster-sounding post i've read on these boards in a long time.

omg, ya, that was a pretty fucker-hipster thing to say. oh god, am I being assimulated? I probably had a bit too much wine in me when I wrote that. I didn't mean to say the band got lame or anything. It's just that most opinions I've heard feel that black market wasn't as strong as a record as without you and it took like 3-4 years to come out. I kinda forgot about them after that. I actually need to kick myself in the ass and pick up the new one.
