Anyway, I'm not a big fan of Khanate...they're cool but if we're talking about SO'Ma projects, I only really like Burning Witch and Thorr's Hammer...

Khanate completely destroys me every time i listen to it. i even will step out on a limb and say that i like them more than Burning Witch...and i'm a man who looooooves his Burning Witch.

holy crap weve got some doom fans on this site....laws yes we do....i love BW but i never got to hear thorrs hammer....and yes its true those other bands arent TRUE doom...but i still love them becuase they give off the same vibe....

I also wouldn't call OLD, Lotus Eaters, Atomsmasher (aka Phantomsmasher), Scorn or God doom....but hey...that's just me...

And on the sludge vs. doom tip...generally, I call the stuff that has roots in punk, sludge and the stuff that has metal roots, doom....even though it's REALLY hard to distinguish...I mean...Noothgrush could be doom technically, but they had more of a punk/crust following so they're sludge...Of course, this isn't the end all of genre specifications but it works for me...
