I'm guessing there are probably more Pussy Galore and Boss Hog fans on this site than Jon Spencer Blues Explosion fans, but is anyone else even slightly as irritated as I am that the White Stripes hijacked the whole "savior of rock-n-roll" thing and the Blues Explosion got kicked out to the curb?

ummm...that is just music media industry hype, or buzz, companies actually pay music journalists to write articles that proclaim the group they are promoting at the time the next blahblahblah, it is all smoke and mirrors and has no bearing on any musicians talent level or musicality in general, as nina hagen would say"the newest club is opening up"....

...in other words, you can't steal thunder when its just advertising slogans, the lightning bolts are all on paper....

Meh... does it really matter who Spin magazine thinks is gonna be the "saviour of rock and roll"?

Although, I do enjoy both the JSBX and the White Stripes. It's all about the rock.

awww man i thought this thread was gonna be about one of my favorite musicians ever, mississippi fred mcdowell!!! you know, he had that album, "i do not play no rock and roll" -- and he rocks the fuck harder than any of those jon spencer/ jack white pussies -- don't get me wrong i like them bitches a lot and i saw pussy galore play so many times back in the day and blah blah blah.
