Given that a commercial spot is normally 30 seconds, I'd kind of expect it. And I don't know many movies that keep the same piece of music going in the background of any scene for more than a couple of minutes, so again I'd deem it a necessary evil.
Given how monumentally horrible some commercial jingles are, I'd prefer a clip of a song I like any day, no matter how badly mangled it may be
I cant decide if its genius or awful, but has anyone noticed the AA advert (thats roadside recovery for the non british here, where they sing You've got a friend, cant remember who its by, but they've put it into 7/4 instead of 4/4 to shorten the phrases and help fit it all in in the time.
I actually haven't noticed cutting of verses in movies and stuff... I guess I just expect that they would have to cut it to fit the timeframe of what they need it for.
it's when they cut out lines. I know there was one ad over here that used mad world. it cut out "The dreams in which i'm dying are the best i've ever had" used the rest of the song though.
