In a small school district in East Texas, girls wear suits and men wear dresses to celebrate homecoming.

According to the tradition, boys and girls reverse social roles for one day during homecoming week. It lets the older girls invite boys on dates, open doors and pay for sodas. It also calls for guys to dress like girls -- and girls like guys.

One parent complained, calling the practice “an effort to push a homosexual agenda, and the "Cross-Dressing Day" was canceled.”

The Liberty Legal Institute came to the aid of parent Delana Davies, who was concerned about officially sanctioned cross-dressing. Davies said having boys dress like girls is part of an effort to push a homosexual agenda in public schools.

Of course, the town’s annual “Anal Awareness Week” held in March may also be postponed.

The school district, wanting to remain objective and neutral, replaced the two and thousand year old tradition of gender swapping with “Camo Day”: army boots and camouflage for everyone who "wants to participate."

Although school mandated activities can suck a fuck, I must say one thing thats been on my mind for a while...

What the shit is peoples' problem in understanding that there IS NO homosexual "agenda". Thats like saying, "the black man's plans".

I think that Ms. Davies is disturbed by this because when she hears of things like this, forbidden desires are awakened, and the dream where Melissa Ethridge is fisting her in a tent at the Michigan Womyn's Music Festival comes back.

Considering that this is East Texas we're talking about, I'm only surprised this didn't happen sooner. Of course, I love the irony that their homophobic paranoia about girls dressing up as boys has led them to offer the alternative of girls dressing up in army boots and camouflage. Because that's not, like, butch or anything... surreal ooo aaa

how is it that we have come to take ourselves so seriously????
i am not into wearing dresses or "womens clothes" but who actually designates clothes as either mens or womens??? i mean the greek men all use to wear "dresses" the scottish men all wear "dresses" and it is considered ok,but if that piece of cloth has a certain design on it then it is feminine and it is designated "womens clothes"

now we CAN NOT TOLERATE the "hideous disgusting" display of sex precluding monday night football.
since when has it been more acceptable to promote a game that promotes violence ,then to promote respect for human sexuality and the female body?
who draws the line in the sand?
what are the requirements for this line?
who says we need to have a line?
and just because someone says we need a line, why do we all line up like lemmings, and agree??
with all of out technological progress and new inventions, and hybrid cars....

we really have SUCH a long way to go in the really meaningful areas!

I think a guy in a black sarong is a damn sexy thing.

*shrug*

You know, if they would have disguised their "cross-dressing day" as a frosh day, it wouldn't have gotten any notice sadly enough. It seems when you only cross dress peaceably there is a problem. Toss in some hazing and everything is ok. tongue

I fucking hate these kinds of people. I hate the more, because they're my parents. They're unwilling to accept anything that is different.

Different doesnt mean right, wrong, or anything else. Its just different.
