Of "fat", large overweight etc etc.

I only ask this because there are a couple of threads around about what do people think about fat guys, etc etc.

but define what you mean,

I like large women, I like thin women, I like all women, but that al depends on the woman. do you see what I'm getting at here?

now I'm a big guy, ok I'm a really big guy 6'2" 315 lbs, for sure I know I am fat, (hey I'm balding pretty bad too but that's another matter)

but I'm curious, I'm a member of the PSW (Plus Size Women) group, hey I figure more naked pics for my monthly fee right biggrin and there are some super gorgeous girls in there, so awesome,

but there are some that no way would I have called "plus size"

so what's fat?

I guess here in the UK what you would call a size 10 to about a size 14 is about average.

I'm pretty sure Kate Winslet is something like a 14 - 16 and the papers here have called her fat before, personally I think she is bloody gorgeous.

anyways I guess this is going to be a pointless thread, so let's call it the

"I really love all women, the hell with societies need for catagories" thread.

biggrin

if I spelled anything wrong, then I won't be at all surprised I'm shit at that.

I'm pretty sure that anything above a US women's size 14 is considered plus sized, officially speaking. (By officially I'm talking about the garment/retail fashion industry.) I'm also quite sure that a US size 14 is larger than a UK size 14. However, clothing size is an absolutely terrible measurement of size and health, as is weight. A woman who is 5'10" with broad shoulders can be heavier and wear a larger size without being overweight or fat.

My personal idea of what fat is has mainly to do with hanging rolls of squish. The occasional bit of squish is not what I mean. I'm talking pendulous flesh and lots of it. I'm a rather skinny girl and I have a couple of squishy bits like most people do.

i'd say any excess fat beyond what is healthily required.
i've recently gained some weight and i find that i'm out of breath faster, sweat sooner (i never sweated at all while i was on the right weight) etc, i'd say that's too fat when there's unwanted effects.

I think everyone has the right to decide what's overweight or not- in regards to themselves.

If a certain high weight or low weight or in-between weight is keeping you from living your life the way you could reasonably expect to at a different weight, then it is possibly an unhealthy weight for you.

Damn, that doesn't seem like a very definitive statement, but it's late and it's how I am at peace with myself in this moment tongue

Celebrity fat is a totally different kettle of fish to the general public fat...

Kate Winslet (and other celebrities) have been called fat because the tabloids have nothing better to do with their time than point out "faults" in people.

This is probably where the majority of us ladies get our insecurities from, because we see someone like Kate Winslet putting on half a stone, (most likely after giving birth as well) and it's front page news and plastered all over the newsagents and hairdressers waiting rooms.

What everyone else has said in this thread: If excess fat becomes a health issue, then something needs to be done about it, otherwise if you are happy with your body, then I don't see a problem.

UK size 14 = US size 10.

double ewww.

i don't personally mind girls who have a little squish as long as they're not unhealthily so. the same goes for those who are too skinny. it's all about whether or not they look healthy.

i'm 6'2" 285. i'm alot bigger than i should be, but i can still walk 5 miles and not run out of breath. i can walk 10 flights of stairs no problem. it doesn't impead my quality of life as far as i can see. so i see my self as overwheight, not in the Obeese catagory where my doctor's chart says i am. I always have been bigger, most of my pop's side of the family is bigger, who i seem to take after. i've always been this way, it's all i've known, and i am happy with who i am, and it shows.
as long as it's not a health issue, and the person is happy in their own skin, i see no reason to label anyone anything.

This seems bad to say but I think of "fat" when it looks sloppy. There are "large" girls who pull it together well and I just think of them as large and attractive. Then there are girls not quite as large but still big that look kind of sloppy, and that seems "fat" to me.

6'2", and 13st - what's that in pounds? Whatever, anyway. I'm skinny but so, so unhealthy - just bought a house and have been doing it up for the last four months, so not been doing much exercise.

Skinny girls don't do anything for me. Don't get me wrong - slim girls are lovely, and even when they're not necessarily slim (once heard someone refer to it as "blurred around the edges") - they've still got a sexy body shape.

Anyone with a BMI of over twenty-five is probably (in my mind) "A bit chunky", or "plump". I have no language that I'd use to describe them in real life; it isn't something that I'd ever say.

Anyone with a BMI of over thirty is "fat", or "a porker".

I agree with this. There are a few people here who seem to think they're fat when they'r no where near fat. I've seen people who are at most mildly overweight, maybe a few kilos, described as "thick", "curvy", "plus sized", etc. It annoys me, but I've not said anything so far.
