Some what off-topic but why would you need specific research just to "ensure that women receive the most appropriate drug doses and treatments". When they create drugs I was under the impression they don't just develop them for men unless they are male specific. Wouldn't you need just general research to make sure everyone receives the most appropriate drug doses and treatments.
Back on topic. You would think since we are so far in depth already we might as well throw in some health care.
I swear he's just trying to prove that he is the worst president in history.
As for everyone else's comments.
Since the inception of the SG newswire it has been their goal to have editors with a variety of backgrounds and standpoints(don't wanna be like Fox News). Dr. Bitch simply fills the super liberal, uber feminist piece of the pie.

I think we can lay off the meth for the moment guys. The Bush administraation has made some pretty scary cuts in health care initiatives since he took office. This is by no means the first and I'm fairly scared that it wont be the last.
So you mean the Bush Administration isn't targetting women, but simply continuing to slash funding for social programs? Awww, that's not nearly as shocking or sensationalist. Not the Bitch's style.
Your flippant disregard for the very serious consequences of this action disgusts me.
Yes, these are more in a long line of Bush Administration attacks on brutally under-funded social programs. Does that mean that the cessation of further activities in the Women's Health Office of the FDA should be ignored? Does the scale of the Bush Administration's misdeeds mean that the families who will undoubtedly suddenly find their children uninsured are meaningless? Or that the statement that "individual children did not have a legal entitlement to benefits" is any less appalling?
Please. Get over yourself.
Get over yourself, Bean. You've inferred ridiculous assumptions of my thoughts and beliefs regarding Subject B from a comment regarding Subject A, and you have the temerity to scold me based on your miscomprehension. Putting words in my mouth, judging me for beliefs that you've assigned me? It's reprehensible.
This story does deserve relevant responses, but the article begs for anything but. Conspiracy? Are you fucking kidding me? The Bush Administration's destruction of social programs to fund war is both well known and all sorts of fucked up on its own. It does not need "Patriarchal Conspiracy Theory" flair to spice things up. If you want serious, responsible responses, accept only serious, responsible journalism. Have you wondered why Current Events are being labeled as Culture and being put in the Lifestyle forum? The integrity of the newswire has never hurt worse than now. It's an insult to the story; it's an insult to the reader. Your disgust could be put to better use.
I'm surprised the Bush administration is still tolerating even the appearance of something called the FDA. We should be trusting corporate America to provide us with quality, safe drugs and food supplies and get rid of the regulations!
It's pretty typical that the administration would attack the most vulnerable members of society (like poor kids) because they know they can get away with it. It's that fundamental hypocrisy that exists in the right wing - every life is precious, until they're born, then who gives a shit anymore?
It isn't just women and children they don't give a shit about...
-Between 2003 and 2006, FDA food-safety inspections dropped 47 percent, according to a database analysis of federal records by The Associated Press.
- There are 12 percent fewer FDA employees in field offices who concentrate on food issues.
- Safety tests for U.S.-produced food have dropped nearly 75 percent, from 9,748 in 2003 to 2,455 last year, according to the agency's statistics.

It's almost like the Bush regime is waging two wars: One overseas and one here at home against it's own people.

Look, I agree Bitch's nonsense has hurt newswire discussion, but I think Bean has a point: you're missing the story here, which is about hundreds of thousands of people getting fucked. Again.
Goddammit I hate that mutherfucking cocksucking donkeyfucker.
But I digress.
Conspiracy theory notions aside, it's a valid story. I attempted to discuss the earlier meth stuff, but when I realized she wasn't actually listening or thinking in a balanced way, I ignored everything else, because it was a waste of time. And complained to the editor.
I think, in a way, you should follow your own advice. Only spend time on serious, responsible journalism found on this site. If you want intelligent discussion, only engage in intelligent discussion. You can't waste all your time on every bit of nonsense flying by. You'll never get anything done.
In that vein, I'll take what is valid in this story, and there is quite a bit that is newsworthy.
Here's the thing. SG is a business. The best thing you can do to try and restore normalcy to the newswire is to send a clearly written email to the lead editors. Then completely ignore her posts. No matter how fucking obnoxious they are, don't say peep. When her articles start getting 4 responses they will eventually drop her as an editor.

actually that's right about on target.
side note: if the staff want people to respond to the content of the newswire instead of the person posting the news, then maybe they should hire non-douchebag editors eh?

It was started, in part, because you'd need general research, but they usually don't bother to do it. First, because it's potentially both expensive and dangerous to drug approval to test things on women--there's the issue of pregnancy. Second, because women (and especially children) react differently to drugs than men do; it's not just a difference of body weight, and drug manufacturers didn't realize that for a long time. That's part of why you end up with things like antidepressants that work for adults causing an increased risk of suicide in adolescents.

Yeah, petition your elected representatives. This is a punk site, right? (Well, some semblance of it, at least.) So all you whiny fucks need to DIY (that's do-it-yourself, kids) and submit some news of your own if you don't like what you're reading.
It's pretty simple, really. Show us what you're made of.
...I can't believe I just paid to say that...whine whine whine...

that is by far the most appropriate response.
No. It's really, really not. You guys can't bitch and complain about her beating a dead horse if you continue to beat it too. Just fucking drop it already. This is a good story and deserves relevant responses. Take your trollery elsewhere.
This frightens me... the government continues to take money away from those who need it most, and put it toward things nobody wants. *sigh* How much is a plane ticket to Sweden, one-way?
This is a very scary topic. However I can see why Bush is doing it. He sees war, and wants war, so he will do everything to try and make everyone else see that he is right. Which is wrong. If he wanted to save himself, he should have pulled out long ago and stop cutting funds from all the places that could help out man, woman, and or child.
I am concerned about the here and now, and that Bush is cutting funds in places to fund this war; I am more concerned about the ramifications that will happen once Bush is done and a new president comes into power. I would have to say I am more worried about the 4 or more years following the end of the Bush administration will be a long up-hill battle.
All the funds that need to be re-allocated and in my opinion we are going to see even more of a division of peoples' ideas where money should go. There will be those who think that all the social programs should be funded somewhat equally, or that the (at that time) now non-war funds should be used to create infostructures to accomidate those who lost jobs and need jobs. Also there will be those who want more money to help power the economy to equally treat women in rights, health care, and wages; on the flip side you will still have those who will say that the funds cut from women and children do not need to go back to them at all.
Short-end: I think this current administration, with intentions or not, is just fueling the fire and we will have alot of problems to come as of now; not to mention if there are anymore cuts to fund this pointless war.

And so now we're resorting to name-calling? Way to help yr case.

See, I'm going to assume yr opinions are shit because you have to resort to name-calling, so I'm now on her side.
