Hi, wasn't sure where to post this, or if i'll find anyone who can help?
But I came accross some info about becomming an extra and earning a few pennies in the process... ive been in a couple of music videos before but they were flukey and unpaid. So i have a tiny idea of what it might be like. But is there anyone out there who is actually part of a casting agency who could give me some tips on getting into it, and the pro's and con's of being an extra? I understand at times it must be boring, and you need alot of patience but is there anything else?
why would one need to move to LA to be an extra? she wasnt asking about being a film or tv actor. If anything to be an extra (and if youre white) move to toronto or vancouver

Pros of being an extra:
-usually free food
-plenty of time to catch up on reading
-low-stress way to make some pocket money.
Cons:
-you may not even end up in the final cut of the movie
-you see the lead actor (AKA, the current governor of "Culifornia"), stumble over the same lines a billion times, knowing that he just made more money in the time it took for him to deliver the line correctly, than you'll make all year. And it makes you want to shoot yourself in the face.
