Gymnasia are impediments to natural evolution.

We don't have to chase woolly mammoths with spears.

We shouldn't need exercise in this era, but our bodies can't evolve while vain gym rats keep stalling the evolutionary process by fooling our bodies into thinking that we do.

Plus, being more attractive, they are more likely to breed.

hmm. you are pulling my chain here.

no - straight up

our bodies evolve because of circumstance

we are losing our little toes because we don't climb trees
we are losing body hair because we wear cloths

we have developed technology at a rate that is disproportionately fast compared to the rate of evolution

wireless technology and the Internet means that pretty soon we won't have to leave the chair at all

our bodies need to evolve into a species that can metabolise 5000 calories a day without any exercise

but "keep fit" fanatics on their treadmills, lifting weights sweating away on the cross-dresser (or whatever that torture device is called) - just fool the body into thinking that natural living burns up those calories

they fool the body into thinking that it has no need to adapt from a species that naturally takes exercise

this would be okay if if gym rats were ugly or sterile, but as they are beautiful and toned, they are more likely to breed and therefore tilt the furture model of human anatomy in their direction

it's irresponsible

I don't think you appreciate the sacrifices fat, unfit people make

You cannot be serious.

Not everyone works on their ass behind a desk, and not everyone will. A good friend of mine was a jock growing up, and continued to be a health nut after he left school, and now he's a firefighter, and a damned good one. I for one am glad that he didn't spend his childhood and susbsequent years completely sedentary, because now he's saving lives and loving it.

Many people, in all cultures, rely on their fitness for their livelihoods. No, we're not chasing wooly mammoths, but that's no excuse for anyone (firefighter or not) to deliberately let their bodies go to shit.

I'm reading some of your statements and I just can't help thinking that you cannot be serious. I mean...yeah.

I've no doubt that there were medical fuck ups. Thalidomide was also medical fuck up. Israel has compensated the victims and it is history.

I'm VERY WARY of anti-west, anti-israel bloodlibel conspiracy theories - and I'm certainly not freaking out calling it fascism or equating it to a justice system that stones people, cuts off limbs, gouges out eyes and hangs people for their sexual orientation.

i know, right? hes SO not scientific it hurts my brain. its like he gets the conclusion he wants first and then works backwards to get there. (which is actually how comedy works, not science or medecine)

hey, uptight, did you maybe think that being fit, while calorie expensive in the short run, is healthier and therefore less expensive to the halth system in the longer one?

I think that some essenitial careers need a level of fitness.

Namely, firefighters, porn stars and soccer players.

They should be afforded a license to exercise, while the rest of us are banned for reasons of evolutionary responsibility.

eventually, as I say, nobody should need to exercise - our bodies will be fit without it - however this can't evolve while lycra-clad narcissists are stalling the process and breeding others to do the same.

right - I'm off to eat a box of doughnuts in the name of humanity

Islamism is a brutal, imperialist theocratic movement that treats women, gay people and other religions like shit. It spits on our freedom and seeks to institute sharia law over much of this planet.

In essence you are arguing that I shouldn't be condemning Islamism.

NOTHING you can say will persuade me not to.

It is the morally right thing to do, and shame on you for criticising me for doing it. Shame on you for wanting to brush it under the carpet and shame on you for letting your political prejudices get in the way of your moral compass.

This is why I think the verb "to be" should be banned from usage. It's too easy to say what things are. Definition is a lousy fucking argument.

It releases mosquitoes infected with yellow fever in Savannah, Avon Park, and Carter village so that it can study the effects on the almost exclusively black victims.

Find out about the Pellagra incident. The tuskegee syphilis experiments. The Virginia and North Carolina forced sterilization projects.

The U.S. Navy spraying chemical weapons into San Francisco. Bioweapons into Tampa, FL. Find out about Project SHAD. Check out water fluoridation....

None of these ^ were "medical fuckups." They were deliberate trials on unsuspecting populations. ......and these are just the ones that roll off the top of my head. Google them. Educate yourself.

Spend some time actually examining what these western governments do - and then go cast stones at the Islamofascists.

Isn't one of the justifications of the war in Iraq because its leader "uses chemical weapons on his own people."

Will I get results like your BBC article, where the primary victims were volunteers and the secondary victims were exposed to what was thought to be a harmless aerosol? wink

HAHAHA! That is fucking funny aatn_ho! It amazes me how liberals cry and moan about health care every four years but strangly enough I NEVER see any Dems in Congress propose a solution. Sure you had Hillary's MASSIVE socialist health care plan in the 90's but even the american sheeple could see that farce for what it was and it died on the vine. Answer me this: why wasn't this problem solved during the 40 years Democrat Congressinal control, especialy the first two years of Clinton? And while you're at it why don't you explain what the Democrat/liberal solution to health care is? Because I can't seem to find it.

P.S. Sorry for going off topic UpTight but I couldn't let that one slide. wink

When you Google ringworm and israel every fucking website is a warped, cranky antisemitic Jewhate site.

There maybe some truth to this story, but I sure as shit ain't gonna take it via a blood libel filter.

This like this and your "CIA trained dwarves to impregnate poor people with anthrax zombie potion" are remarkable and unbelievable because they are so out of character.

Stories about the slicing and dicing of citizens of Islamist regimes are unremarkable because that is how things are done in those countries.

Our society for its faults and killer dwarf programs, relatively has its shit together and needs to be championed.

Chop 'em and stone 'em Islamist culture is basically where Europe was during the era of the witch trials. It needs to go through an age of enlightenment, but it can't while people here are facilitating it by making excuses for it or by self hating.

Thanks so much for her and for me who doesn't feel alone anymore.

I will show on kurdian websites all names.

You must write to iranian ambassies in your own country to stop the sentence.

A lawyer could be helpful because the republic can stop the sentende because of international pressure and will kill hert in 2 years.
Even the death's penalty is stopped, she will be betan (flagellation ? does it exist in english ?) 50 or 100 times.

This is what will happen to Nazanine who killed her rapist.

Thanks so much

I'm not some shitbag divorce or personal injury lawyer, holmes. I don't think you have the first idea what it is that I or most lawyers actually do for a living. Lawyer "jokes" are generally the result of layman contact with lawyers, which is usually in those two arenas. The law is about much, much more than that.

I am an officer of the court. I have sworn to uphold the constitution. The law is an honorable profession that requires education and skill. I'm proud of being a lawyer. We have the power to make things happen with words.

Well, not really, hey?
Santa doesn't exist, therefore delivery of presents from said Santa is impossible.
Governments do change their minds on occasion (even Islamist ones), especially when a lot of people point out they have more to gain from altering their stance.
Yes, its unlikely. So what?
Haven't bought a lottery ticket? Ain't gonna win the lottery.

I've been pleasantly surprised recently by detailed (and actually very swift) responses I've gotten from MPs on letters I've written about political issues.
If you think Islamist governments will do nothing, what about 'democratic' ones?
Petitions like this can be used in lots of ways.
What do you think a petition of thousands of names sent to the white house, house of commons or (often better still) local MPs, councillers or senators does?
All these people are power hungry and in democratic nations, in the end people determine who has and keeps power.
Of course our 'democracies' are far from fairly representative (hence the inverted commas) but bulk petitions mean bulk support.
Politicians aren't going to do anything out of the goodness of thier hearts, but they may well do something in order to garner more support for themselves.
Politics is a game.
There's no point in complaining that we, the little people, lose that game when we can't even be bothered to play.

Ok uptight that is simply histerical. For once you really got me laughing. Still laughing.

And with my little disclaimer of I never ever agree with you about anything , more or less, I will say on this there is little to argue about.

I think people have a semi-valid point that about your motives but honestly, you wear your bias on your sleeve.

If they aren't intellegent enough to see that, and mature enough to ignore it for the 2 minutes it would take to voice a bit of united outrage at such a flagrant mis-justice then I'd consider it a fault of thiers not yours.

Those that would use this as an opportunity to post whatever sort of anti Israeli bs they could dig up ( whether it's true or not, irrellevant ) or make a huge personal attack on you here are lower than low.
