Rep. Randy “Duke” Cunningham went down hard in November. He pled guilty to conspiracy to commit bribery, mail and wire fraud and tax evasion. Duke then resigned, after representing San Diego as a member of the House since 1990.

But the fun is just getting started, according to the San Diego Union Tribune.

Federal prosecutors are reviewing records of two Washington, D.C., hotels where Poway defense contractor Brent Wilkes rented suites as part of their investigation into whether prostitutes were involved as he tried to curry favor with lawmakers and CIA officials.

Wilkes, whom federal prosecutors have identified as a co-conspirator in the bribery case of former Rep. Randy “Duke” Cunningham, rented hospitality suites in the capital on behalf of his flagship company, ADCS Inc.

Did somebody say prostitutes? I think I can hear the Washington press drooling from here.

The defense contractor who pled guilty to bribing Cunningham has now divulged that he used to arrange prostitutes for “Duke.” Federal prosecutors are now looking into the hotels where the screwing occurred. One hotel happens to be the Watergate. The contractor would rent a suite with several bedrooms where lawmakers and other guests could relax. I mean, really fucking relax. Like penis in vagina relaxing.

The FBI is currently interviewing women from escort services around the Washington area. I mean, really interviewing.

It would be so delicious if the Bush (aka Nixon 2: Imperial Boogaloo) administration also hosted a Watergate sequel.

It's certainly nice to see justice attempting to get itself served, but isn't this really a huge boondoggle when compared to what's happening in the grand jury investigation into Plame?

Seriously, which should be more important to people, our presidential administration selling out CIA agents as retribution for people pointing out that the emperor has no clothes, or Duke Cunningham getting his lingam waxed?

All of Congress is just really fucking lucky that no one's actually paying enough attention to interpret all the shit they're pulling correctly and use it to effect some changes around here. If the country were paying enough attention, they'd all have been in deep shit long ago.

Of course, if the country were paying enough attention, a whole lot of things would be different, so . . . *sigh* whatever

Al Capone actually served time for Federal Income Tax evasion...not most of the crimes/murders he committed. Ya gotta get 'em however ya can. And, when you think about it, isn't all this Republican corruption really just different facets of the same pile of shit? mad

I am pretty Democrats are just as corrupt as republicans. As a matter of fact I am pretty sure its not a republican democrat thing, its a politician thing wink

D.C. is all about sex workers. Just read the goddamn personals. I'm sure Montana would be mortified if it was informed just how much sex is for sale in our nation's capital.

It really saddens me that so far, not too many people seem to (although I may be incorrect) paying too much attention to what you said. Very well said smile

Why does the US care more about who's getting sexual favors, rather than trying to help cope with some severe gas prices. I mean, do you really need any proof that these guys are crooks? Like I really want to be paying $500 extra dollars a year to go to my job. And no, its not the governments fault because I don't have to drive a car.At least when attempting to punish some of these fools, which they aren't going to do, they can do a better job of acting like they care.

You're probably right in the broader sense, but all these scandals put together (throwing in DeLay and Abramoff and all the others) points to a dirty money machine within the Republican party that I don't think exists in the Democratic party. I wouldn't be surprised if it does, but from what we have now, this does seem to be more of an issue with Republicans than Democrats.
