yeah, it's like a bad joke. Republicans want to take on more debt to hand free money to oil companies. It's like hyperbole isn't even possible with these dumb bastards any more.

That reminds me of the Lewis Black skit where he goes on about tax check thing the government gave out a few years back.

If I was one of those anti-tax, pro-fiscal-responsibility Republicans, I'd be saying "but it was your money in the first place".

I just heard this on NPR on the way home from work. As I drove past the gas stations, all I could think was, "What fucking idiot will feel placated by what amounts to 33 gallons of gas?"

Although I'm sure many will, this does not speak well of our elected politicians' opinions of their constituency.
