As we all know, America is getting fatter. But a recent comparison suggests that America's fattest states are also America's reddest states:

In this graph created by fucktheredstates.com, the horizontal shows the percentage of obese people, with the vertical showing the percentage of people who voted for Bush.

The r-squared value is .1513, meaning there is a 15.1% correlation between being obese and politically retarded. This isn’t a huge correlation, but for something as arbitrary as eating Twinkies and voting Republican, I would have expected near zero.

It begs the question: Why do fat people love President Bush so much? Is this administration doping our Ding Dongs with Republican-loving drugs? Is McDonalds giving away Dick Cheney action figures with the purchase of a Big Mac? When you eat a bag of Doritoes, does it cause some kind of chemical reaction that erodes your brain until you’re a full-fledged Conservative?

The world will never know.

Are you suggesting that their math is somehow tainted by political bias?

Let me start out by saying that I'm liberal, so don't be jumping on me for saying this, but this article is a bunch of BS.
First off, like Trucker_Ficton said, it's from Fuck the states dot com. Doesn't sound very fair and balanced to me.
Second off, the math doesn't suggest anything. Besides, if you consider the percentage of Americans that are obese, you'd probably get about the same thing with people who voted for Kerry.
I feel sorry for the people who blindly believe this bullshit. It's childish and extremely pathetic.
Makes us Liberals look like a bunch of idiots.

*cough* Michael Moore? *cough*

But seriously, I'm liberal and this is funny, but probably there are as many fat liberals as there are fat republicans. The source doesn't seem to be un-biased, which makes me doubt the total validity.

Though, I'm sure we have a higher percentage of vegans....

For anything as random as weight vs. political affliliation, the plot should have a correlation of being <5-10%.

Though the conclusion isn't very solid, it's still funny.

rest easy, he has decided he no longer speaks for you:

First off, I’m not a nice guy and I’m certainly not a liberal. Liberals are oversensitive little creatures that have no sense of humor and no capacity to understand satire.

actually, he never did speak for you or anyone besides himself.

Erm, for a 15% spread that starts at 46% voting for Bush, this isn't very convincing. Neither is drawing a straight line through widely-spaced data points.
