Prepositions just aren't suitable words to end sentences with.

You realise I now have an internationally approved mandate to hurt you?

Now, now, grammar is nothing to get violent about. I just figured misplaced prepositions would be a fun topic to comment on. But it's not a stance I'm anxious to be a martyr for.

flag burning, while very symbolic, does not guarantee that you won't get arrested or that you'll change anything...I'd hate to see an entire generation of youth become just as reactionary and cynical as the one before them...flag burning, honestly...what the hell kind of protest is that? like the flag means anything...

Well, I don't think he will be nailed hard for actually burning the flag (if he gets nailed at all).

He probably will get nailed for burning a flag that he stole.

I find the kid guilty of being a dumbass. That's about it.

That was what I was thinking. He gets drunk, burns a flag for reasons as yet unknown - it seems likely he was just being an ass, else I'd think he'd play the first ammendmant card and claim he was making a statement.

Even so, one night of drunk-getting, flag burning and the horrendous and entirely amoral crime of being a drunk teenager (you guys STILL have that?) shouldn't put him in jail for nine days. Give the kid some community service - two weeks cleaning out sewage should convince him to clean up his act.

Add it up
minor in possesion
Theft
lttering
evading arrest
Burring someone elses property

9 days is nothing (notice I laft the flag burning off)
And that wasn't 9 days for his crime, that was 9 days wainting trial. I guess dad was pissed off and didn't want to bail his drunk ass out.

ok, this long list of heinous charges are completely bollox. Underage drinking is a normal everyday occurance, In most parts of the world it's perfectly legal to drink at 18, In Ireland, most people start drinking way younger than that.

It doesn't say if he lives at home or not, but if he does, then the charge that he stole the flag is ridiculous, and if his parents allowed that charge to go through, then they are a hundred times more idiotic then their son will ever be, and evading arrest, If you're drunk and a cop starts coming towards you, you're probably gonna run away, that's evading arrest.

If it wasn't for the crazy and Fascist anti flag burning laws, this kid would never have been in court and jail wasting thousands and thousands of dollers in tax payers money and screwing up this guy's life

Bullshit you can't drink till 21. That is the law. So you have a drunk ass kid starting fires and you think he only got arrested because of the flag. Running from the cops gets people hurt, on both sides, not to mention drunk kids sterting fires that could cause damage.

I was going to write exactly that. Then I said to myself, "someone most assuredly has already gotten there." Lo, the first quote was such. And all was good.

In Ireland you have to be eighteen to drink, you'll note it does say that and the same applys in the UK. It was also mentioned in the home you can drink at any age, although said person stated it was from six but I'm pretty sure it's any age.

The kid did something stupid, everyone does stupid things and he just happened to get out of hand enough to have the police called. I wonder if it would even be worth discussing if he hadn't burned a flag.

Amen, but if people actually started believing that then the TV show "Cops" would be put out of business. And that would be sad. biggrin

Prob not, but you could also ask if anyone would be supporting this kid if he didn't burn a flag.
