Can anyone point me towards some photos taken in Iraq. I'm specifically look for photos of bombings, suffering etc. Mostly because I have plenty of 'happy iraqi' photos, flag waving children etc. I'd very much apreciate a little help.

This seems like a good choice.

You could also take stills from Fahrenheit 9/11, but that would require more work. I can't seem to find any stills from F9/11 posted on the Internet that match your description.

Good luck. smile

Why do you want to see people suffering, if you don't mind me asking?

Helps undermine support for the war. That's what this guy's mission is. He's an anti-war activist from the US, paints an exclusively negative picture of the rebuilding of Iraq

Yeah, the waning support for the war is the fault of one the only unembedded journalists on the ground in Iraq who doesn't do his reporting from the Green Zone--not the fact that the "reconstruction" of Iraq has been marked by incompetence, lack of planning, and colonial hubris, not the fact that bodies of Iraqis and US troops are piling up on a daily basis, and not the fact there is no clear strategy for stabilizing Iraq, let alone "rebuild" the country we destroyed--I mean liberated.

Hmmm... pictures of suffering in Iraq... okay...

There's what they pulled out of one of Saddam's mass graves.

Does that fit your bill?

This guy might be driven by a mission, but what's wrong with that? He's not lying, he's not making anything up, and he's covering a side of the situation that is being ignored by the vast majority of the corporate embedded media.

well for one thing, seeing the suffering of war has at least one supremely important function of making people remember that war isn't a 20 second censored news report from some dusty corner of the world, war is real and war is horrible.
i personally believe that every adult person should see the full, uncensored, horribly face of war for as long as we wage them, it's too easy to express war in statistics and shrug, people should see the graphic horror of things to remember and never forget.

so it's better that the majority considers war to be something distant and of little significance to their daily lifes?
no wonder war is necesary when people never realize what it's really like to begin with save for the few that end up in the middle.

So rather than see what's happening the people back here should all rely on the soundbites and severly censored images that Fox and CNN give us?

no one has to rely on "censored sound bites" your on the internet. bbc news is very honest. and pbs has done several uncensored documentries on the war in iraq. documentries and news reports that hail some soilders and show us fucking up first hand. so one can honestly say that there being censored. if you want the truth all you have to do is look.

But where are the WMDs?

Iraq did not pose a security threat to the United States.

Osama bin Laden posed a security threat to the United States.

Osama bin Laden is still a free man to this day.
