They've just mullered the newsgroup service they bought from Deja, by (ludicrously) refusing to display email addresses.

Their advanced search pails in comparison to alltheweb and now I discover they are fucking communists!

Dear lord. You must have just gotten out of the time machine from 2000, except then everybody said the google beater was dogpile. Perhaps your memory is failing you in your old age, but Deja also refused to display email addresses, since it would be one of the biggest spam stripmines on the internet.

I dunno what you two are talking about; Google groups does display email addresses.

Why would Google Groups listing email addresses be of any use to spammers? They can just do an XOVER command on an NNTP server and get the FROM: header email addresses that (you say) Google don't show. confused confused

Dejanews did display email addresses (it also allowed you to search header fields like IP addresses)

Google Groups Beta doesn't display email addreses, but it used to.

The UK version is the old one and still displays email addreses.

I see what you're saying, it can display a broken email address. That's suboptimal. frown frown

BAHAHAHAHA "RIGHT WING MEDIA?" I want some of what your smoking.

Last time I checked, Google was a search engine and not a media outlet. confused

news.google.com

That's a news aggregator, not a news source. Google does not write or publish news. It collects news written and published in other sources and makes it all available in one place.

its still media nonetheless - it limits/exposes what stories are read just like any other source
i'm not arguinging they code to bias certain sides
its just a news popularity contest
