Now what do they expect to do about the LAKES of gases?
I think you are talking about Titan, the second biggest moon in the solar system. Mars doesn't have any lakes

*sigh* By the time we'd really be able to put this project into motion we'd also be able to set up huge, livable satillites in the same orbit as the Earth.
It is neither wrong nor right, it's just not neccessary yet.
I think, if anything, we'll be using it to mine for certain materials that asteriods do not provide. But even that will be short term (read- the next 2 or 3 centuries).
I haven't read the books mentioned above me- are they long?

I think shooting garbage into the sun would be more useful, anyways.
Well okay, but is it biodegradable?
Everything's biodegradable at 6000 degrees celsius.
not to be a geek or anything but we shouldn't sent our garbage to the Sun, if we do that we will run out of resources soon . After all, we don't have an unlimited supplied of resources and recycling either naturally or artificially is what replenish the resources we used.

You're right. you're not being a geek. This is all a Futurama reference.
Shoals of dead fish float on the lakes
but Uncle Sam's on Mars
and Science is making the same mistakes
but Uncle Sam's on Mars
and no one down here knows how to work the brakes
but Uncle Sam's on Mars!
