This isn't fake, I'm almost positive...err rather, i believe this guy cuz I"ve listened to him some on coasttocoastam and seems to have all his marbles, but astronomer wants to be NASA Admin or somethin
weird it's not news anywheres else... NASA does hide stuff, err like any gov branch, but really cool to see...

Those aren't structures, they're flat planes of silica possibly created by a solar flare or some other heat/radiation source (Mars has no discernable atmosphere to filter such things) which have been broken up by an impact of a meteor or something.

Of course that's just my opinion ... I may be wrong.

If Hoagland is claiming that these are structures, there is a reason this is not being covered anywhere else: He is an idiot.

We've heard this kind of nonsense from him before:

I've only heard Coast to Coast AM a couple of times with the new guy, but I don't like it much. Art Bell had this quality of seeming to never have a skeptical thought in his life. He'd believe anything, and give every wack-ass claim someone made equal weight. It made the show interesting to listen to if you thought of it as weird science fiction, not if you seriously believed it was true.

Of course, Art Bell gets major demerits for being one of the main sources of Y2K paranoia. That quality of not questioning guests backfired when the guest is saying that on Jan. 1, 2000, all nuclear missiles will launch at once.
