if they're willing to spend $50k to clone their old cat... maybe they have some more deep-seeded problems/
(and the university of phoenix is similar to ITT tech-- they're not federally or state funded..so they have to get money from people to operate. they're a legitimate business)

ITT is federally funded, which is why they have writing/speech classes (to fill other requirements ) and why you are allowed to use government student loan programs to pay for it.
Er...in all truth, someone who loved their pet enough to spend that much on cloning it REALLY loved their pet. Although it's ridiculous compared to adopting a needy cat from a local centre, for some people their pets are like children, and try telling a woman who just lost her child that she could "adopt another one".
We attach emotional baggage to all sorts of things, and going out to buy another similar item doesn't cut it. If it did why don't we go out and shoot our dogs because they don't go with our outfits - besides, it'd save on kennel costs when we go on holiday.

Or maybe she was just a rich cunt, so emotionally empty that mr. fluffies was the closest thing she could associate with love.
Point is, we live life for the new experiences, when something goes wrong, when someone/something dies we morn, but then we move on to the next thing and move on with our lives. We shouldn't sit around and live in the past and try to fool ourselves that our pet is still alive, but really he isn't.
What's the next thing, designing a virtual-reality world a guy can choose to live in and it's all a "what if my wife and child hadn't left me" world? It's life, it goes one direction, forward, and if you're trying to live it any other way, you're trying to run up the down escalator, and you got problems.
