Report

The journal

So, 16 year old Rachelle Waterman had a difficult life of shopping, working a $10/hr computer job, eating vodka soaked fruit, volleyball, honor roll and choir practice. No, really, her mom (who spent a lot of time doing vounteer work with children and was allegedly beloved in the community of Craig, AL) wanted to send her to fat camp. So, naturally, Rachelle enlisted the help of two 24 year old ex-boyfriends and had her murdered. Oh, yes, you budding MeFi detectives, it’s all too real. And what was the final entry of our young ringleader whose Live Journal is aptly titled My Crappy Life? before the police seized her computer?

Just to let everyone know, my mother was murdered

I won’t have computer acess (sic) until the weekend or so because the police took my computer to go through the hard drive. I thank everyone for their thoughts and e-mails, I hope to talk to you when I get my computer back.

At least she wrote some bad poetry before they took the computer away.

the best is how terribly they pulled it off...
First they were going to kill her and then stage an auto accident, then inexplicably they changed plans and just lit the car on fire...
the only upside to this story is that 3 sets of extremely sub-standard chromosomes will hopefully be out of commission for a while.

Guess she's not going to get to do her solo in the honor choir xmas concert.

Her parents really do sound like they suck - she was grounded for getting an 89% on a math quiz and having wiccan books? She probably would have been a totally normal person if not for her crappy parents and retarded friends. Too bad she was stuck in Assfuck, Alaska. There's not really anywhere to run to.

I was grounded for having a book about Celtic religion, but that didn't make me want to kill my parents.

Sorry, but being marginally strict about grades and religion doesn't rationalize conspiracy to commit murder.
Perhaps if the grounding involved being locked in a closet, without bathroom breaks for something, but no, this girl was just fucked up (or so it would seem).

because it's "satanic" or wrong in some way. i don't see her being grounded as being a good reason for her to kill her mom, though. wow, people get punished, big deal!

Well, I didn't exactly rationalize her action - I just feel bad for her. It's too bad she didn't have any quality human beings around her to take care of her and set her right. Shit - she could have been rid of them in 2 years just by leaving at 18.

I fear we are going to see much more of this in the coming years of overbearing false morality and forced religion.

Because my family is Catholic. Possessing pagan literature goes against those beliefs and is viewed as "Satanic". They also insisted upon listening to every CD we bought to make sure we weren't learning about "depraved sexual practices".

They don't really care now, since they know reading about different religions is one of my passions, but as long as I was in their house, I had to live by their rules. They were raising me and wanted to make sure I didn't end up as some devil child. I don't hold it against them. It sucked at the time, but I understand their reasoning now that I'm older. They weren't bad parents, just strict.

When I was a teen, I hated them for it, but my god... I never wanted them DEAD.

How exactly is a book "satanic"? Because it has "un-christian" ideas in it? I'm not read up on Wicca, but I'm pretty sure satan doesn't have anything to do with it.

Of course being grounded isn't a good enough reason to kill, but it sounds like this girl went through much more than that. Her behavior wasn't kept in check by a rational person.

I feel for the father more than anyone else. It's very sad what happened to the mother but her worries are truly over, and the girl has to sleep in the bed she's made...but the father has to deal with the fact that someone he loves arranged the brutal death of someone else he loves. That's a lot of grief and betrayal to have to deal with.

no, i used "quotes" to show that they probably thought it was satanic or wrong.

she needed a psych. a lot of people are depressed and suicidal. a lot of people hate their parents. most don't kill 'em, you can't really rationalize her actions unless we found out she was completely insane or that her mom had been molesting her or something since she was 2. otherwise, it really makes no sense, and there is no excuse WHATSOEVER!

Man. With three Law and Orders and three CSIs, you can't turn on the television without having it rammed down your igmorant throat that if you think you will get away with murder, you're an idiot. Never mind whether those shows are accurate or what the statistics are on how many murders are actually solved; the one thing TV seems to do right is try and convince everyone that all murderers get caught and the detective gets the witty last word.

Therefore, the moral of the story is: more TV for teenagers!
