Many districts open their polls at different times. Dixville Notch and another tiny town whose name escapes me, both in New Hampshire, opened at midnight, and results are already in: Kerry - 35, Bush - 21, Nader - 1. Yes, 57 total votes.

edit to add: Right the fuck on, Dixville Notch! Oh, and NYC opened its polls 15 minutes ago.

Jesus, edit YET AGAIN to correct that: Bush - 35, Kerry - 21, Nader - 1. Crap on a crutch, leave it to stupid Fox Morning News here to get it backwards, and against their own freaking candidate. Morons.

so, FUCK YOU DIXVILLE NOTCH!!!

Hell, I'm just gonna repost it, in case people don't notice my edit.

Stupid Fox Morning News here got it backwards. It's Bush - 35, Kerry - 21, Nader - 1 in Dixville Notch and that other little town. Leave it to the morons at Fox to get it backwards in favor of the candidate they oppose.

I forget which polling cernter they were talking about, but someone on CNN just mentioned that at one district in Florida they've already had 45 voters go through, with another thirty or forty waiting outside. That's 10% of the total eligible voters in the district -- in the first hour.

Looks like we're going to have a hell of a turnout today. smile

I was the 49th voter, and I left around 7:50 AM. That's about one voter per minute. Not too shabby. smile

Some small towns open at 1201am. Dixville Notch NH, usually closes their poll by 130am because everyone has voted. I posted this in the "Just voted" thread but if you havent been there yet, their results are something like 47-GWB 9-JFK.

Using their results as a forecast, they have been right about 19 out of 20 times. Of course this is nor reason for anyone to give up, or become complacent. If you havent voted yet there's still oots of time to make a difference or cement the decision.

Correction Dixville Notch results 19-GWB 7-JFK. Also Hart's Location posted 15 each.

This link to the largest NH paper is running slow due to the election traffic.

I just voted. Score one for the little guy because I voted the Green Party guy for NJ House of Representatives in my district. He's not going to win, but sometimes I believe in the underdog.
