the idea that the democratic party has gotten more liberal is laughable. There hasn't been a true liberal nomination for the president by the democrats in over 20 years.

stock, since you apparently see nadir (sic) as a valuable political analyst, what do you think of this comment:

One of every three workers doesn't make a living wage.

I have so much repect for what Nader did years ago. It makes it so hard to see the pathetic asshole he has turned into now. As such an environmentla spokesman, he should be doing whatever he can to get Bush/Cheney out of office, not working and sabotaging the campaing of their opponents again.

And its all Bush's fault, right? I will bet you a dollar that in four years (if Kerry is elected - a big if)it will not be any different. Western countries have long needed a two wage income to get by. This is just the way it is and has nothing to do with who or what party is in the white house.

Uh, I never said it was all Bush's fault, did I? I was just wondering whether Stock agreed with the proposition itself.

In the context of this thread it is what you seemed to be implying (at least to me). If it wasnt the message you were trying to get across in your post, I apologize. I guess I didnt get the point of your post then. Sorry.

Well, given that "being beaten" in this case involves getting a miniscule fraction of people who cry socialism and drink sapphire martinis to vote for him, I think I'm pretty comfortable with my choice, thanks.

Thats why they call them "spoilers"

I'm not sure I follow your logic at this point. Probably because there isn't any.

OK, I'll dumb it down for you:

Swinging a razor thin political constest to someone else by siphoning off 3% of the vote isn't "beating" anyone and only privileged, faux angst ridden, fashion politics sheep would be fool enough to think so.

Clearer now?

It's funny to see all the folks who wail about the fictional attempt to squash votes in Florida four years ago are now cheering because Ralph Nader is getting thrown off the ballot in several states.

Hey, as long as it's not your vote being discounted, things are just fine and dandy, right?

Apparently, you're new to this whole "voting" thing, so let me explain how it works:

Anyone, anywhere in the US, can vote for Runaway Ralph. They just have to write him in. No one's vote has been discounted, unlike the thousands of people in Florida who were illegally prevented from voting.

What is at issue here is Ralph's eleventh hour vanity campaign expecting the rules to be waived for him and the massive, fraudulent attempt by people who support another party and candidate to help him do it.

Siphoning? That's a load of bullshit. You can keep lying to yourself. But I refuse to accept it when you lie to me.

Of course, I assume you'll trot out yet another ad hominem attack. Never mind that it might be more effective if you actually tried to convince me to vote for your guy on some rational basis, like his policies are effective and in line with my values.

as much as I'd love to read everyone else bitch about nader being a total bastard for spreading so much negativity...I'm just gonna put in my two cents...

Nader needs to suck it up and campaign, rather than smearing the democrats and republicans...pussy...

One of us is deceiving themselves, all right. My money is on the anarchist in the business suit.

This discussion isn't on the merits of Kerry, this thread is on the merits of Nader, specifically on the fact that for all his whining, he has no answer, no policy, no program, no platform and no demonstrated ability to actually be president. You've pretty much admitted all these things and yet think people should vote for him. I'm not remotely interested in maturing your political outlook.

I didnt know this thread was about Naders merits to be president. Maybe we should ask the thread starter, stockula, what this thread is about because I think you just made that up.

More lies. I've never once claimed that Nader had "no answer, no policy, no program, no platform and no demonstrated ability to actually be president." Furthermore, I've never once said that anyone should vote for Nader, unless they feel he would represent them better than either of the two "main" candidates. I am not going to endorse or vote for him this year.

I'm not remotely interested in maturing your political outlook.

I doubt you could anyway. You seem woefully unprepared to deal with anyone who isn't lockstep in your "anybody but Bush" plan without simply attacking them as a person.
